Atlantic Bar Harbor Blueberry Ale

Pours a clear copper color, with a big, fluffy light tan head. The blueberry is pretty profound in the smell, other spices and some citrus fruits were evident too. The taste is of blueberry, reminded me of blueberry muffins. Didnt have the fake overly carbonated lambi fruitiness to it, which was good. Not a girly drink by any means. Short finish, with a mildly fruity aftertaste. Not too bad actually. I could drink one of these every now and again.

Clear gold/amber. 2cm frothy tan head. Nose is all blueberry muffin. Flavor more like blueberry cookies, not too sweet. Light/medium body, balanced carbonation. Very easy drinking. Not too bad.

On tap at the Microfestivus ’07... Amber pour with an off-white head that reduces to a small cap, leaving decent lace. The blueberry nose is so bold, it’s almost processed (not sure if that’s good or bad). The blueberry flavor covers up the rest of the brew, almost cloyingly and artificial. Blueberry extract feels "added after" and not "brewed with". The mouthfeel is thin and feels somewhat processed. If you’re up for a lot of b’berry in the brew, then it’s perfectly ok. I just lose most of the "brew" surrounded by the blueberry. Not bad for a summer sipper, I guess, but just a tad artificial.

12 oz bottle from variety case bought from Brewer’s Outlet (Butler Ave)...pours deep amber with a big frothy off-white head...smell of blueberry, malt, fig...taste is thin, sweet of blueberry and mild hops...I’m not huge on "fruit" beers but what I thought was decent about this one is that the blueberry is not overpowering.

Bottle. Amber with beige head. Nose of light sweet malt with faint hops in the background, along with faint fresh blueberry-- the blueberry is nicely subdued. Flavor is crisp slightly sweet malt with a hint of blueberry throughout-- like a nice blueberry muffin. Clean finish with a slight blueberry aftertaste. This is darned good stuff, more than I was expecting. Very impressed at the seamless integration of the blueberry throughout.

Bottle. Pale golden transparent color, small white head. Aroma is very blueberry, and some cereal. Flavor is similar--the blueberry is very strong, and almost overpowering. Tastes kind of like blueberry pie.

Amber Color Light Blueberry Aroma. Initially Notes of Blueberry...Then an Increasingly Dry Wheaty Flavor. Aftertaste Isn’t Enjoyable...But Decent Session Brew.

Bu à la brasserie, en fut (échatillon). Couleur thé glacée, mince collet. Arome de malte doux et de petits fruits, surtout des bleuets. Goût de malte fumé, et de fruits doux. Mieux que leur bière d’été!
