Pop the cap and the smell of blueberries is immeadiate. But to me that is where it stopped, I did not find this to be over sweet, instead it was a restrained pale ale. Slight sting of blueberry, but it may just be a little hop presence that I’m mistaking for blueberries. Makes it feel a tiny bit sour. Not that exciting. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 10, 2005 Pours a deep reddish-copper with a 1/2 inch light tan head. Dissipates quickly that head does. Smell is a very aromatic blueberry, both sweet and sour. Overpowering and can’t make out much more.
Taste is nice crisp malt. Some strident bitterness, both from hops and blueberries. Lightly sour with a crispy bitter finish. Mouth is crisp but strangely lightly creamy as well. Very tasty and drinkable brew.
I don’t like fruit beer save a fruit lambic here and there but this beer has always had my respect. They did it right. This beer has the essence of real blueberries vs. blueberry syrup. Therefore it is not as sticky sweet and has alot more fruity complexity. And the malt is not some weak wheat malt, it is substantial enough to lend some balance to the fruit. Well done and the only fruit beer I would ever recommend to anyone.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Jan 30, 2008 BOTTLE- creamy, crusty, and syrupy blueberry flavor. A nice pie like quality to this one, but a bit too sweet to session. Not bad, considering the genre. phaleslu (592), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 18, 2009 12 oz. bottle from Fries Cafe in Cincinnati. Pours clear amber with minimal head. Strong, pleasant aroma of blueberries and wheat. Blueberries are stronger in the nose than in the flavor, which was nice but somewhat bland. Wheat and malt, slightly tart. Light, and a smooth finish. Nice summer beer and better than other blueberry beers I’ve tried. wcampbell (584), Central, South Carolina, USA

Easy to drink but not especially complex. Not too sweet, really good for a simple fruit beer. Light finish. SETANTA (581), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 23, 2006 Very sweet smell, faint blueberry aroma as it’s poured, very faint. A pale ale look with generous head and some activity happening, looks great. Taste at first is a bit sweet but as it warms it becomes very smooth and well balanced ale. The blueberries are not strong and only appear near the end of each sip, more as a spice than as fruit flavor. jimmack34 (570), Lancaster, Ohio, USA

Very sweet/tart smell and slightly hoppy. Tasted sweet and slightly hoppy. Not so much like blueberry, but fruity and tart. Aftertaste was good as the flavor hung around for a few seconds. Not a beer a would drink all the time, but I am glad I finally tried it.
