3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 shigadeyo (2399) - Harrison, USA - AUG 13, 2006
UPDATED: AUG 9, 2008 I picked up a bottle of this for my wife to try, but a had to sneak a taste or two...
Nice brown/amber color, moderate carbonation. Blueberry and malt aroma. Tastes like blueberry and malt (more beer/malt flavor than blueberry). Light on the palate. Sweet finish with a hint of blueberry. Not quite enough blueberry for my wife. This brew mostly tastes like beer with a bit of blueberry flavoring thrown in...
12 oz bottle, $1.15 from River’s Bend. Rating: 6 3 5 3 11 = 2.8. --
UPDATE (1/07/2007): My parents visited the Atlantic Brewing Company in Bar Harbor, Maine while on vacation last year (2006) and brought me back a 12 oz bottle of this beer and three others (Atlantic Bar Harbor Real Ale, Atlantic Mount Desert Island Ginger, and Atlantic Coal Porter) ... Thanks mom and dad! --
Atlantic Bar Harbor Blueberry Ale is amber in color, clear, and has a generous amount of lively carbonation. It also has a large, foamy, ivory head that falls moderately quickly. The aroma is a malt and a reserved blueberry (it’s fairly subtle). A well balanced subtle blueberry flavor compliments the moderately sweet caramel and maltiness. The finish yields more roastiness accompanied by some citrus hop bitterness. This beer has a medium body and feels good on the palate. I am more pleased with this beer the second time around (maybe it’s a fresher bottle) and have elevated my original rating slightly. My wife thinks that it still needs more blueberry, but I’m happy with it as is and after all, I’m the one rating it! Rating: 6 3 7 3 13 = 3.2.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 r464 (1108) - Earth, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 15, 2012
Light, perhaps a bit malty with a touch of fruit, but not really sweet. Could really use a crisper finish, but the combination of blueberry and citrus zest is still nice.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Leafs93 (971) - Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 17, 2012
Pours brown with a off white head which quickly dissipated. Aroma is caramel and blueberry. Taste is sweet with blueberry coming through strongly. I though there would be a more bitter element to this with the blueberry but it is more on the sweet side.
3.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 subs (14) - - MAR 9, 2012
Pours golden brown with a small white head that didnt last long. Lightly carbonated, not a strong aroma. has a light blueberry taste.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 puboflyons (1186) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 3, 2012
From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. The pour is an attractive medium amber with a short-lived head but continuing carbonation. The aroma is mildly grainy but also alive with blueberries. There is also a notable sweetness. The body is around medium. The taste is fruity like it should be but there is a definite sharp bitterness on the end. I am not big on the style but I thought this one was pretty good.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Climbrew (28) - - JAN 11, 2012
Really like this beer in summer. Not sweet or sticky just intense blueberry aroma in a nice pale ale.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Boliv (1045) - New York, USA - NOV 25, 2011
Bottle, best enjoyed before Nov. ’11. Pours deep orange and copper with a frothy 2-finger tan head. Aromas of artificial blueberry, blueberry-scented Smarties candy, and grass. The flavor is similar, with sweet blueberry and malt, brown sugar, and some grass. Somewhat artificial-tasting; not great. [891]
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Voodoo (86) - Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 14, 2011
The aroma was overwhelmingly blueberry, but it was difficult to discern any blueberry taste over the malt. Very, very slight hop taste. I was hoping for a bit of blueberry in the palate, but none. More of the taste of a middle of hte road session brew. The case tells me it’s 2 months prior to it’s death date so it’s fairly fresh. Doubt I’ll purchase another and didn’t realize this was not from Bar Harbor Brewing before having opened it......it was a bit of an end around with the labeling.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 patrick767 (2836) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - OCT 13, 2011
tap - Pours amber with an aroma that’s all blueberries. It’s sweet with assertive blueberry flavor that’s obvious though not overwhelming. It’s a refreshing beer with some mild hops detectable in the finish. Decent.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 HeistAlmighty (540) - Saint John, New Brunswick, CANADA - SEP 20, 2011
Draft sample at the brewery. This one was unlike many of the fruit beers out there. Blueberries were added to beer, not the other way around. I got the impression they may have used real fruit instead of some kind of sugary concentrate (that seems to have gone into their blueberry soda). The beer was surprisingly dark for a fruit beer, a rich orange colour. The flavour was mostly a mild malt with a nice compliment of berry. In the taste and the aroma the blueberry was integrated into the brew, rather than loaded on top. Body was light and crisp, good carbonation.

On tap at the BBQ joint next door to the Knox Road brewery. Comes in darker than most blueberry beers I’ve tried. A light-medium amber. Subtle blueberry aroma with a good light malty backbone. Satisfying, and not overly "fruity". Light hop/fruit finish.
