1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 rsauermann (38) - Arlington, Texas, USA - MAY 17, 2007Blah. Too much blueberry. I was hoping for a pale ale w/ a hint of blueberry. This one is a little overpowering with the fruit. Beer is very thin tasting, coulda gone for a more malty beer. Not a fan.

Copper pour with a thin white head that doesn’t leave much lacing. The aroma is dominated by the blueberries but not over the top. The flavor has the blueberries throughout but they are subtle and nothing else is really gong on with this beer. It’s a slightly odd which doesn’t make it all that drinkable. Not really my style!

This is one of the few blueberry beers out there that sort of tastes like beer. Even the color looks the part. A deep amber color with very little to no head. The smell is nearly exact to the taste. Strong fruity and blueberry aromas let you know exactly what you are getting into. With most fruity or hybrid beers, the distinctive taste seems to always be towards the end. Bar Harbor Blueberry Ale though skips all the foreplay and jumps right at you with the blueberry flavor with a subtle aftertaste of a mild ale.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 chriso (7254) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 30, 2012
22oz bomber bottle, purchased from Liquor Locker, Southwest Harbor (I think), consumed in April 2010. Amber colour. Relatively restrained blueberry aroma. Also quite subtle on the palate. Dry and fairly tart. Not one of those synthetic, sweet, fruit bombs that fruit beers can be. All the better for that.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 bluejacket74 (992) - Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA - AUG 25, 2012
12 ounce bottle, best before January 2013. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a clear amber color with a half inch off-white head. Head retention is decent, and there’s a good amount of lacing. The aroma is mostly sweet, it smells like blueberries and sweet malt. The brew tastes like sweet and kinda tart blueberries and grainy malt, but there’s also a slight bitter finish. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it’s a bit slick and it’s also refreshing. I liked this brew, I’d try it again. I think it’s worth trying if you’ve never had it before.

My wife and I have had many of these over the years when visiting Maine. A truly nostalgic beer.
The beer is a light sunset orange hue, and appears clear. The head is less than a finger thick, and fades pretty rapidly, leaving minimal lacing.
The aroma is nostalgic indeed, and takes me back to Acadia National Park, where I drank a bunch of this brew. Blueberry juice and a simple ale.
The flavor is pretty basic. Blueberry juice and and some type of sweetener in a base ale. It’s pretty good, though I tend to be a bit disgruntled when I see the words "natural flavors". I much prefer 100% fresh fruit to any additives or substitutes.
The feel is medium/thin in body, with a growing sweetness as I make my way through the pint glass.
Overall, a fun beer and worth trying, though I much prefer my fruit beers to either be sour/wild.
