COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A good, clean nutbrown ale with a malty body. This is our most popular ale due to its smooth and malty flavor. We use a mixture of pale, crystal and black malts in this one, and our primary hop is Target, though we also add some Whitbread Goldings Variation as well. The Real Ale is best fresh, so fresh in fact, that it's great right out of the bright tank.

12oz bottle. Pours a medium brown/red with a small off white head. Aromas of slight roasted malts, caramel, rasin?, and some earthy hops. Flavor is watery and thin. Much of the aroma comprises the flavor but much more subdued. Ehhh boring and not that good, i’ll pass

Pours a light brown color with a thin head. Smells slightly of caramel and coffee. Taste is a bit watery with some caramel.

’Real ale’ - that non style specific moniker tossed about by session geeks everywhere. Okay, especially England, Old and New. This one is a brown ale that’s on the lighter side. Dirty, earthy nut aroma. Medium clear brown color, looks like Dr. Pepper. Subdued malt flavor, and bitter in a nutty sort of way. Almost an ESB is it body and zestyness. About what I’d expect for Maine beer.

Relatively faint aroma, with earthiness, grass, and nut. Flavor is smooth and nutty. More nut, wood, and a little roast bitterness in the finish. Better than I expect given the rating.

Mild malt aroma. Clear amber color with a small tan head. Light roasted beginning that fades in the finish.

Pours a deep, chestnut brown with a light, white head. Solid toasty nose, good finish. Could use more body, but very drinkable.

Absolutely delicious. Slightly nutty in the aroma, with maybe a hint of some kind of spice. Tastes full and robust without being overpowering with a smooth clean finish. A simple drink, but still one of the best I have ever tasted.

Pours a copper brown color with bright clarity. Head formation is lacking quite a bit even though it has good carbonation. Aroma is a bit weak with some roasted amlts and nuts. Taste is pretty much lightly roasted malts, pretty simple taste. Drinks with a medium weight but thin and watery around the edges. Finishes semi-dry and light bitterness. Standard fair here nothing special

Bottle from craft beer outlet. A nice easy drinking brown ale with a solid roast, rye, earth and nut presence. Not bad. Slightly thin in the body.
