COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A good, clean nutbrown ale with a malty body. This is our most popular ale due to its smooth and malty flavor. We use a mixture of pale, crystal and black malts in this one, and our primary hop is Target, though we also add some Whitbread Goldings Variation as well. The Real Ale is best fresh, so fresh in fact, that it's great right out of the bright tank.

Draft pours dark brown with thin white head that dissipates. Nut brown aroma over light carbonation. Nice brown ale flavor. Smooth nut flavor ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle. Pours brown with tall, long lasting, fluffy, off-white head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of sour bread, nutty malt and some chocolate. Body is medium and tangy. Taste is very astringent, toasted malt, herbal hops not very pleasant. Finish is long and astringent. It seems the bottle is way past due.

Bottle at home from notes. Pours a clear amber brown color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma and flavor have toasted malts, caramel, earthy notes, a hint of chocolate, the nose is a bit better than the flavor as the flavor gets soft mid-palate to the finish.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Best By 06/07/14. Handsome looking mahogany brown pour with decent clarity even through its opaqueness. Off-white head that fades. The aroma is malty, sweet, and nutty like a good brown ale should be. The body is light to medium. The taste is malt forward with a mild bitterness at the end. A nicely done brown ale.

Bottle. Dark brown with no head. Aroma of roasted malts. Very light body with roasted malt and light coffee notes. A little watered down for my tastes.

FROM NOTES: July 10, ’12 Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a pint glass. A: Light toasted aroma. A bit sour. A: Pours a clear, brown with a two-finger, off-white head that diminished somewhat quickly. The lacing was fair. T: Light sweetness and bitterness. Little flavor. The finish was about average. P: Light body with minimal carbonation, was almost flat and watery. O: I will have to try this beer again, as I suspect I got a bad bottle. What little taste there was, was not good.

12oz bottle. Amber brown body, looks filtered. Foamy, fading beige head. Pleasant caramel, light chocolate aroma. Smooth chocolate amber nut brown beer. Medium bodied, fresh and sessionable. Balanced by a nice crisp hop tone, but the finish is luscious, deep malt. Solid offering.

Boring brown is pretty boring. Light malty and sweet with very mild hoppiness. Not bad but again its unremarkable.
