A_R (318), Georgia, USA Jan 18, 2008 Nothing special here. A weak brown ale with a medium head. Light mouthfeel with an acceptable malt flavor.
BelgianBeerGal (974), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Sep 26, 2008 Bottle. I have already mentioned several times that I am not a big brown ale fan. This was easily my fave brown ale to date. heemer77 (3771), Savannah, Missouri, USA Sep 24, 2008 Dark garnet and brown colored body with a light khaki head. The aroma was nice caramel and milk chocolate. Nice classic British smelling hops with hints of tea. The taste was light chocolate with some black tea notes. There was also some prune in the finish. Enjoyable. MrBunn (889), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours a reddish brown with a big head that doesn’t let me get more than about half of the bottle into a pint glass. Aromas have a bit of funkiness to them and leaves me wondering about infection. Flavor has a bit of earthy malt, acidic peat and maybe some nut to it... Finishes off with a bit of a sour edge that is a nice touch. thornecb (1131), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Aug 27, 2008 Pours mahogany into a shaker. Offwhite head with good retention leaves sheet lacing as it slowly recedes. Smoked caramel aromas. Sweet smoked malt upfront becoming sweet and thin and onto a sour finish. ucusty (1210), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Aug 26, 2008 Thanks to beechbum for this. Definitely past its prime. Light peat, nut, and leather on the nose. thin mouth-feel and over-carbonated. Roast, and sweet malts
