COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This ale is light and crisp, yet retains the body and character of a microbrew.

12 oz bottle from LiteWait. Yellow honey color, small white head that hung around for awhile. Light wheat nose, a smooth light wheat taste. It would be a very nice, refreshing beer on a summer day or something to remind you of summer on a cold winters day. (although, it’s a warm winter night right now) This beer gave me a bit more hope for this brewer. The Blueberry sucks.

high carbonation, honey yellow color, lemon sent with mild hops. Refreshing on a warm summer’s day or a long winter’s night. Love it!

Bottle. Pours a clear straw color with a thin white head. Aroma of pale malts, wheat and has a hint of floral hops. Flavor was very light with faint citrus, light wheat and some hop bitterness with a weak and watery body

Bar Harbor Summer Ale is a pretty clear, light golden ale with a thin, white head that vanishes. It has a faint, light, sweet, fruity wheat aroma. It’s pretty light bodied and a little fizzy. The finish is slightly silty. It’s lightly flavored with a touch of fruity sweetness and a hint of grassy bitterness. It’s wicked light drinking.

Had this last year in Bar Harbor. Forgot to rate until now. As such I can’t recall the details of the drink but I enjoyed it.

On Tap at Anthony’s in Bar Habor. Sweet pale malt. Not much hops. This is too sweet to be a refreshing summer ale. There is no crispness that is advertised, but that could be due to how late in the season it is and the age of the keg.

Pours a three finger white head that quickly goes to a ring leaving some lace. Clear orange/amber color. Faint malt nose. Light-medium carbonation and light bodied. Flavor is light sweet citrus, a little watery. I’m ready for some beers with a backbone. $2.00 for a 12 oz bottle from Tullys Beer & Wine Wells, Me.

Straw yellow color with a white head. Not much aroma, but some lemon and wheat. Taste of grain and some lemon. Light and lacks the character of a microbrew.

Got lucky to try one of the last bottles from summer 2008 I could find in Bar Harbor. Wheat ale? Seriously? Tasted like a typical golden or pale to me. Rather mundane and chalky overall.

(Rating #1899)
