3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 chriso (7063) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 1, 2012
500ml bottle, best before May 12, drunk at 2011 Festive tasting on 30 December 2011. Very dark brown in colour. I was going to say it looked rather thin for a stout, which we had it listed as on RateBeer, but I see it is described as a Porter on the bottle, so I’ve changed the style. Beige head. Lively condition but not too fizzy. Touches of chocolate and tart fruit in the aroma - certainly not a roasty porter. More of the same in the lfavour. Rather thin mouthfeel.. OK but rather short of depth and clout.
