Medium spicy flavor with a lot of sweetness. Slightly peppery with some heat from the alcohol. Could use a bit of age, but good. after4ever (2859), Brier, Washington, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 26, 2008 Bottle at the brewery in Bar harbor. My first mead! Very tasty, but I could see that it would be wise to limit the amount you drink. I would like to try one of my other bottles warm and see if some other flavours develop. It seemed a little over powered by alcohol right now. Maybe age would also help a little. EithCubes (2177), Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Aug 27, 2008 Bomber. Lovely clover honey nose with a touch of alcohol and a nice grainy malt bill. A little too saccharine. Pours much darker than expected, A dark ruby-amber, with a short creamy beige head. Sweet, richly malt, syrupy taste full of sugar and honey with pale malts just sparkling to their hearts’ content. Warming without being at all harsh, and even manages to dry out a bit by the end. Thickish, chewy feel and a bit of a Brandy tone. Just as soothing and bottomless as one could ask for while sitting and sipping on a balcony on a breezy summer’s night, gazing into the void and contemplating it all. Very pleasant!
Would love to have this again (hint, hint!). dangelicom1 (17), Shelton, Connecticut, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 22, 2008 650 ml. Clear, dark reddish copper with a small, fleeting head. Aroma of cherry, blackberry and honey with some oak and light alcohol. Flavor follows aroma profile, with more earthy oak, honeycomb, nuts and cocoa becoming evident the further you go. Medium body is mostly smooth, with some light alcohol warming, and dry on the finish. Kind of like what I imagine a cabernet that’s been sweetened a touch with honey would be like, and not bad once you get accustomed. jcwattsrugger (5583), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is cheese, musty, then alcohol, sweet medium malt-some honey. Taste is herbal/medicinal, yeast, musty, then alcohol, sweet medium malt-some honey. Finish is herbal/metallic. Not my taste. Thanks, JWC for sharing. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA

It really brought out the sweetness of the honey. Not overly complex in anyway, pretty much just straight ahead honey notes, alcohol and a bit of floral earthiness in the finish. Not impressed and not really what I have come to like in a Braggot.
