3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Opaque black/brown with a light head and tiny dots of lace. Taste is roasted malt; it adds black coffee midway through the palate, providing a subtle, but effective, bittering. Simple, straight-forward, quite drinkable.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured as part of a taster at the brewery. This porter has a classic porter appearance in the glass. I like coffee a lot, but this overemphasized the burnt/smoky flavors in a typical porter and there was no dark chocolate or underlying maltiness to help balance this out. Iíll stick with the classic Fullerís London Porter for the same price.

Love at first taste. Chocolate mocha start with rich coffee tones and a surprising smooth finish. Good with burger or ribs.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Just realizing that I havenít rated this before. This is one of my favorite porters. It pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma is sweet from the chocolate malt. Flavor is nutty with a lot of bitterness coming from the malts giving a coffee like taste. Very good porter.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a crystal clear dark brown with faint garnet highlights at the edges and a smallish tan head that quickly dissipates. Smells of caramel, cocoa, milk chocolate, and hints of roasted coffee. Light earthy hop and an almost creamy sweet aroma comes through. The flavor is like coffee milk. Sweet roasty milk chocolate and caramel with hints of sweet cream. Little to no hop flavor. Medium body with a sweet silky mouthfeel and a light level of carbonation. Decent porter and certainly miles ahead of that "ipa". I enjoyed it and would have it again.
