RCL (855), Boston, Massachusetts, USA Apr 12, 2008 Very dark pour with a thin tan head. Nutty aroma. Lightly woody roasted flavor. Not bad at all.
mcox90 (251), Wilton, New Hampshire, USA May 10, 2008 12 oz bottle purchased at Tulleys on a weekend trip to Maine. Pours a deep, but clear brown with a small off white head. No lacing to speak of. Nose is malty and nutty. Mouthfeel is a nice medium with moderate carbonation. Taste is the aforementioned malt and nuts. Maybe a little bit of chocolate. Slightly bitter aftertaste. Good, but average porter. BeerandBlues2 (2311), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA May 9, 2008 12-oz bottle received via trade with coldbrewky. Pours black with a small, fizzy, brown head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is average malt (nutty, bread), light hops (grass), average yeast (leather) with notes of cocoa and cola. Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness. Fairly bitter for a porter but nonetheless an easy drinking beer. Rciesla (132), Brick City, New Jersey, USA May 8, 2008 Bottle from Circle liquors. Pours dark brown with thin lacing. Good flavor of chocolate, malt, and quite hop character in nose and taste. real good. cazort (301), New Haven, Connecticut, USA Apr 29, 2008 (Bottle) Good right from the start, with a sort of dry flavor. Not the strongest porter by any stretch of the imagination, but very well-executed. Rich without being heavy, has some bite, especially in the roasted malt flavor. Very balanced. Some hops (I could deal with more hops, but what is present I like very much). Thankfully, little sweetness. Definitely one of the better porters I’ve tried, but still falls a good deal short of the best of the best. MaliMisho (208), East Meadow, New York, USA Apr 22, 2008 Black body with very little tan head. It hada roasted chocolate flavor and tasted a little smoky.
