COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A superb porter, hearty & dark. This one is a staff favorite, made with pale, crystal, Munich, chocolate, and black malts. The darker malts give Coal its color and rich flavor. We use Target and Willamette hops to yield a very subtle hop flavor in this porter. We cellar this beer for close to six months before releasing it on the thirsty throngs of fans.

Nearly black in color with a decent brown head. Nice aroma of Chocolate, coffee, and brown sugar. Palate is slightly thin, but not bad. The flavor is comprised of the sweetness of fruit and chocolate and the bitterness of coffee and bakers chocolate. Finishes smooth. A nice porter.

Pours black with a huge, frothy, tan head that stays around a minute or two. Sparse lacing. Nose is a bit cola-like with a metallic hint and perhaps a note of chocolate. Taste is slightly, and pleasantly, to the bitter side, but that metallic quality comes through also. A but thin for me, lively carbonation. Decent brew, but not a favorite porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance: dark cola brown, short light beige head. Aroma: light chocolate, some coffee. Taste: dark chocolate, roasty coffee, cola, hint of mellow, earthy hops and chalk. Finish: slightly dry, quickly fading wet stone. Notes: Enjoyed the punny name, but this was a puny porter. Flavors and aroma were light, palate was on the weak side.

Bottle. Pours brown with tan head. Nose/taste of roast barley, old coffee, cocoa, pine needle and old citrus. Touch of grape. Medium body.

A simple and nice porter! Nothing fancy, over the top, or frankly all that memorable about this one. There arenít really any faults with it either. Good dark brown pour with a nice tan head that leaves some lacing. A subtle roasty aroma draws you in for a mildly bitter and touch of chocolate taste. It has a decent mouthfeel and is easily drinkable.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with little tan head. Smells of roasted malt and chocolate. Drinks smoothly with little lingering hop bitterness. Medium bodied. Tastes of wood, resin, dark bread, small amount of smoke.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. It is an attractive looking black pour with a long lasting off-white head. I like dark Porters like this. The aroma has a definitive chocolate character along with the dark malts. Slightly buttery. Better than average but not excellent. The body is medium. The taste is a bit of a recovery from the aroma with its chocolate character and earthy hop finish. Clean finish too. A decent, drinkable Porter but nothing extraordinary.

I see what you did there with the name... Opaque brown with very little head. Aromas of roasted malt and chocolate, but fairly muted overall despite the lack of a head. Decent chocolate flavor with a little bit of fruity notes. Bittersweet and roasted. Feels too thin in the mouth, but I like the level of carbonation and the lingering charred aftertaste. Itís fine if you want a porter and this is all thatís on the menu, but generally you can find something better.

Bottle. Dark brown, clear with a huge foamy head ... This bottle had turned a little. Overall pretty good with some roasted and coffee flavors, palate not great though thin and high carbonation
