tedovertu (163), Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA Nov 27, 2008 Toasted malts with mild coffee notes. Dark black color with some amber tints. I like the play on words for the name ot this one. Mild roasted malts in the flavor. This is a decent porter. Good sized head with a frothy consistancy. A little water but not bad. mcjay (130), Neenah, Wisconsin, USA Oct 29, 2008 Deep brown color with a thin but creamy tan head. Mild coffee aroma with a roasted malt flavor that is somewhat week and watered down. Cole Porter must be rolling in his grave. lithy (385), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Oct 20, 2008 Dark brown basically black except in the light. Almost nothing forms for a head just some small light tan bubbly carbonation sits in spotty islands on top. Coffee and tobacco nose, sweet and roasted. Body is light with strong bitter roasted malts and coffee. A bittering finish lingers nicely with the roasted malt. DrDavid (488), Johnson, Vermont, USA Oct 19, 2008 (Bottle). Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, and slight chocolate. Reddish black body, small light brown head. Nice malty chocolate flavor profile, with some nuts and roastedness. Not much finish, but overall smooth and tasty. hellbilly (940), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA Oct 9, 2008 bottle BB march 2007? by way of beachbum25... pours a hazed ruby brown with a huge sandy coral colored head. the cap is enormous, frothy and very light/airy. the foam actually works it’s way out of the bottle as the sediment at the bottom is swirled. the aroma is definitely malty with some chocolate, toasted nuttiness close to coffee, a bit grassy and a spiciness that tingles the nostrils. the flavor is much the same only the hops are noticeably floral and spent pine. there’s a light acidity and bitterness throughout with a dry peppery finish. the aftertaste is of chewed up multi vitamin pills. medium body. when sloshed around the carbonation builds up and actually fills my mouth with foam.
