3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Caught between being a scotch ale (as it is categorized) and a Scottish ale (as it is named). Definitely has the scotch taste but not the nice smooth maltiness.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
This is the second offering from these folks that I must assume is spoiled. The pour is dark with minimal head. Aroma is vinous with a strong peat pretense. Flavor is that of red wine that’s opened too long - slightly vinegar, and sour grape. The fizziness of carbonation just make this seem like a bad wine cooler. Really a shame, as Scottish ales are one of my favorite styles, and I had big hope. But between this and the Real Ale, I’m thinking either they have serious quality control issue, or just make really awful beer.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle into glass. Opaque dark brown. Sweet malt with a touch of hops on the nose, in the mouth very full. A bit sweet, almost cloying. Moderate finish, leaves a bit if stickiness. Ok, comes scoffs as a higher ABV red, and I want it to be easier going.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Attractive w/ very nice aroma. The taste is just a touch underwhelming. It has that boozy Scottish feel but is lacking in the caramel that makes scots great. Still a sold beer as a whole tho!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bien malté. On sent un petit côté fumé. Assez douce en bouche et un goût de café s’installe en finale

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Sweet light molasses aroma with a fruity and herbal floral character. Opaque dark, ruddy brown under a quickly dropping off-white sheet. Sweet brown sugar flavour with low bitterness and very faint fruitiness. Medium body, low to moderate carbonation, sweet finish.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours dark brown with a frothy tan khaki head. Light aromas of smoked peat, toffee and caramel. Tastes more of the same with the caramel sweetness a little more pronounced. Good thick body. Overall a good solid beer but not spectacular.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
650ml bottle. Dark brown colour, thin tan head. Not a strong aroma, faint smoked peat, spring water. Taste is very mild, brown ale malt, kind of. Thick and creamy body. Overall, I didn’t get much from this, but what there was wasn’t bad.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a dark brown body with a finger of tan foamy head, no lacing.
The smell was smoky/ roasty through light coffee, light chocolate, and malts.
The taste was mostly sweet, eventually gets some bitter qualities through previously mentioned flavors.
On the palate, it sat about a medium on the body, was pretty smooth, sessionable, bitter yet somewhat sweet aftertaste and finish.
Overall, this was a pretty good Scottish ale Id probably have again.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On draft at City Swiggers. A malty, lightly smoky & bitter Scot, pretty dry for the style. Solid, but unspectacular.
