A refreshing wheat beer spiced with fresh ginger root. The process of making this wheat beer has been nicknamed "special ginger tea", due to the fact that we add over 20 lbs. of fresh ground ginger root into the boil. We use pale malt, and wheat, as well as Target and Whitbread Goldings Variation hops to flavor this light, summer ale. Island Ginger is particularly popular during the warmer summer months, though thanks to the ginger kick it has, it would also be warming in the cold winter months.

Light, drinkable, & not over the top ginger. Pretty nice for the summer but nothing special. Decent pour & aroma. Not bad!

Bottle. Toffee malt and ginger aroma. Hazy amber with small head. Sweet ginger and very light toffee malt flavor. Decent.

Bottle: Cloudy/dirty gold with a creamy white head. Strong ginger aroma.....light vanilla, wheat. Ginger and wheat malt taste. Sweet and carbonated.. Ok for what itís advertised, itís definitely ginger-riffic......but itís also a little cloying.

bottle, just a plain lifeless pale ale. Nothing wrong with it, a little grainy. Was just hoping to taste some ginger and i didnít. Oh well.

Pours a slightly orangey dark amber with a thin off-white head that is gone quickly. Nose is slightly skunky and reminiscent of the back room of the store I worked at as a teen, where we kept empties. Taste is balanced. Not too sweet. Not particularly hoppy. Ginger comes through in the aftertaste. Medium body. Lively carbonation. Not bad, but not as gingery as I had hoped and not good enough to keep me coming back. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hmmm, polarized on this one. Pours a nice orange with a white head, and smells very good, with ginger and lemon. Taste starts of nice, with lots of ginger, but then ends with this weird sweetness that is off putting. Had on tap at the brewery.

Aroma: Not as much ginger as Iíd expect in the nose; more hefe-like in character with a little banana and wheat. Appearance: Light, hazy bronze body with a creamy white head that settles into a white ring. Flavor: Thankfully, much more ginger apparent here; hefe character more prevalent toward the finish with some dried wheat and banana. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: I warmed up to this a bit; a little odd, but still a solid, interesting beer.

A summer beer with a kick! Light but spicy; orange-ish color, lively on the palate with a fruity finish. A nice, drinkable beer on a summer day.

12oz bottle, definite ginger aroma and ginger taste. A light summer ale with ginger, this one just wasnít for me. Decent, again, just not my style.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a hazy orange amber body leaving a small half finger white head lasting for less than ten seconds. Small streams of carbonation were seen rising. There was barely any lacing. The smell had the ginger up front with some light malts coming out as the beer warmed, not much else going on. The taste was basically the same. On the palate, she sat about a medium and was sharp as hell, probably due to the ginger, so its expected (it tells me the ginger is real and not fake). For 5.2, Iíd say this is fairly drinkable, but the sharpness of the ginger helps to bring it down a bit. Overall, Iím a big fan of ginger and actually really liked this and if I lived in their distro would definitely want more of.
