A refreshing wheat beer spiced with fresh ginger root. The process of making this wheat beer has been nicknamed "special ginger tea", due to the fact that we add over 20 lbs. of fresh ground ginger root into the boil. We use pale malt, and wheat, as well as Target and Whitbread Goldings Variation hops to flavor this light, summer ale. Island Ginger is particularly popular during the warmer summer months, though thanks to the ginger kick it has, it would also be warming in the cold winter months.

A summer beer with a kick! Light but spicy; orange-ish color, lively on the palate with a fruity finish. A nice, drinkable beer on a summer day.

12oz bottle, definite ginger aroma and ginger taste. A light summer ale with ginger, this one just wasnít for me. Decent, again, just not my style.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a hazy orange amber body leaving a small half finger white head lasting for less than ten seconds. Small streams of carbonation were seen rising. There was barely any lacing. The smell had the ginger up front with some light malts coming out as the beer warmed, not much else going on. The taste was basically the same. On the palate, she sat about a medium and was sharp as hell, probably due to the ginger, so its expected (it tells me the ginger is real and not fake). For 5.2, Iíd say this is fairly drinkable, but the sharpness of the ginger helps to bring it down a bit. Overall, Iím a big fan of ginger and actually really liked this and if I lived in their distro would definitely want more of.

No head light ginger aroma. Week watery flavor with slight ginger. Almost like a tea. Refreshing. Enjoyable.

Mild wheat aroma, pours a slightly hazy light amber with a full white head. Some wheat malt flavor, with a touch of ginger and bitterness in the finish. Not really much going on with this beer, it seems like it missed the mark somewhere.

12oz bottle. Filtered orange-tan. Fading soda-like head. Coconut-fruity aroma isnít unpleasant, but isnít a great beer aroma either. Ginger forward, but a decent enough of a malt base to ground it. Well done for a Ginger beer certainly, just not a beer you really want to revisit.

Bottle purchased at Crafted Drafts. Hazy orange to amber in color with a medium off-white head. Aroma of malt and ginger along with some weird esters. Malty flavor with plenty of ginger before a sweet finish.

Really light blonde ale with mild ginger. Very drinkable and mild but the ginger flavor is barely present. If you want to make a ginger beer you should make the ginger somewhat prevalent.

The Gibson, Brooklyn tap ($6): Pours a cloudy light orange with a small white head. Aroma is wheat and diluted ginger. Taste is wheat at the front, then a sort of weird spicy feeling reminiscent of ginger toward the back. This ainít great by any means, but is drinkable and somewhat unique.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. The pour is a slightly hazy medium amber-copper with a head that erupts briefly and then fades away. The beer is brewed with ginger and that is the first aroma that my nose picks up. It is followed by pale malts and a crisp clean hop note. The body is about medium with a slight astringency. The taste is also ginger forward but mildly sweet. A clean finish. Something I need to be in the mood for.
