COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A refreshing wheat beer spiced with fresh ginger root. The process of making this wheat beer has been nicknamed "special ginger tea", due to the fact that we add over 20 lbs. of fresh ground ginger root into the boil. We use pale malt, and wheat, as well as Target and Whitbread Goldings Variation hops to flavor this light, summer ale. Island Ginger is particularly popular during the warmer summer months, though thanks to the ginger kick it has, it would also be warming in the cold winter months.

this beer is awful in every respect...golden in color with tiny head...aroma is indistinct, only picking up wheat...flavor sucks...very metallic in nature

Draft @ Mudville 9 NYC. Cloudy orange looking color. Tastes and smells like a wheat beer. Decent but nothing special. Ginger is there but doesn't go we'll with the consistency ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Amber color with a thin whitish head. Crisp, light, a hint of ginger. Earthy, malty. Not bad, but not a standout.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy golden amber with a small white head. Aroma of ginger and wheat. Flavor is more of the same with a bit of caramel.

12oz bottle. Cloudy gold pour. Sweet grainy malt aroma. Tastes are wheat, ginger spice, peach and bread. Not my bag.

Light amber color with a loud, fizzy off white head. Light spritzy nose. I expected a stronger ginger taste but this is pretty subtle. Some bready malts and berry fruitiness, with a ginger heat in the finish. Nothing wrong with it, but I expected more ginger.

Cloudy dirty gold color with a persistent head and sheets of lace that run back into the glass. The taste is pretty much as advertised: light caramel malt and noticeable hops that are both punctured by an edgy sour ginger flavoring. It diesn’t quite work, even though I do give it points for originaltiy. Not a keeper.

Bottle shared with Linh, Vi and Thi before Louis CK, October 2012. Pours a light golden amber with white lacing. Aroma is ginger and spice. Mouthfeel is carbonated with notes of ginger, caramel malts and additional spices. Nope.

Tap at the brewpub. Earthy somewhat muddlet gingerroot and dough. Touch of caramel and lemongrass. Okay.

On tap at the brewery. Light, refreshing, and straightforward, I don’t really taste the ginger, and neither did anyone else in my tasting group.
