12ozer from the brewery. Pours orange/amber with a 2 finger chunky white head. Not much in the nose. Taste is sweet with a little bite, ehhh. I love the name as I love the Island but damn this needs so much more.

12oz bottle. Minimal white head. A swirly haze in the body that I rarely (if ever) see, makes me wonder if this is OK to drink... Light crisp carbonation, but kind of a questionable milky texture. Nice, spicier gingery aroma, though. Decent zesty taste. Overall, the texture and appearance is too unsettling for me to finish this. No best-by date found.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 scottw86 (902) - Maryland, USA - JAN 7, 2012
Poured a slightly hazy dark-yellow color with a thin off-white head that faded quickly. Aroma is a little skunky with some creme and wheat. Not that much ginger in the aroma. Taste has much more ginger with some caramel and bread. Slightly skunky. Finish is ok, but a little syrupy with more ginger. Overall it’s decent.

12oz bottle. Pours a medium orange. Skunky aroma, some... clove ? Yeasty, skunked taste. No ginger, just a familiar taste of a beer that may have been left in the sun for a day or year. Checking the bottle, the "best by" date isn’t marked in, but the year listing only goes up to 2010. It’s 2012. Uh oh. Hopefully this was skunked, otherwise it’s the worst micro I’ve ever had.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of malt, grain, and a hint of ginger. Poured amber in color with a tiny, off-white, loose head that disappeared immediately. Cloudy. Slightly sparkling. Full of tiny particles, and a few large ones, throughout. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malt, grains, and slight ginger. Medium body. Lightly dry, lightly sticky texture. Average carbonation. Malt, grain, ginger finish is dry.

Bronze amber hue. Mostly clear with slightly thick opacity. Sweet ginger at the start. Wheaty, delicious.

Sample poured at the brewery. Unfiltered orange colour. Aroma is wheat malt, some citrus and a hint of ginger. Taste is mostly like a hefe with wheat and fruit. There is an underlying warmth I assume is the ginger, but the taste didn’t come through very strong. Palate was medium/light, a bit sticky. Overall, a bit of a let down. Having had a beer with WAY too much ginger and not much brew I was hoping to see someone do a better job. This wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t ginger enough to convince me ginger beer is a good idea.

On tap at the BBQ joint on Knox Road in Bar Harbor. Comes in a light orange. Light head and carbonation. Aroma and flavor is of light ginger- it’s quite subtle. Malty-wheat backbone and body. Cuts through the smoky BBQ meats well.

poured from the bottle at the brewery. I am not a ginger fan but this beer was good. Poured a golden color. Aroma was of wheat and very mild ginger. Flavor was faint ginger malts. Very refreshing.

Bottle from the brewery, probably the best ginger beer I’ve ever had. Pour was golden in color, ok head and lacing. The aroma was faint ginger and a wheaty grainy base. The flavor followed, the ginger quite subtle and refreshing, tea, light malts, refreshing. Mouthfeel light and smooth. I can’t believe this was so drinkable.
