COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This strongly hopped, crisp ale, is the clear choice for the hop enthusiast. We use pale, crystal, black and Munich malts, and a veritable boatload of Northdown bittering hops for this ale. Like the Ginger Wheat, it is quite popular in the warm weather, as hops yield a clean, crisp bitter that is rather refreshing.

Caramel, fruit, and pine in the aroma. Flavor starts bready, then finishes with some grassy, pine hops. This tastes halfway between an ESB and an IPA, but it’s really good.

22oz bottle in an English pint. Pours amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of pale and a little bit of dark malts and a decent amount of floral hops. Flavor the same. Average texture. Better than I was expecting.

Fresh malt aroma with a light amount of hop pellets. Hazy amber color with a small off white head. Light bitter beginning with a mild vinegar finish. Dry palate.

Pours brown with minimal cream head and some lace. Aroma is mild malts and nutty. Taste sweet malts, hops come through strong, nice bitterness. Light body with a tingling bitter finish

Sample at the brewery. Definitely the pick of the litter in a reasonably strong group. Dark brown colour with a decent tan head and foamy lacing for such a little plastic cup. Aroma is hops and some sweet malts. Taste is bitter, but not overwhelmingly so, with some good hop flavour and a hint of grapefruit. Crisp, medium body. Overall, this fits nicely with the Atlantic Canadian bitters just over the border and if it weren’t for that damn limit on alcohol I’d have happily brought a few back.

Reddish brown, hoppy, dry, bitter. Very nice. Subtle. Delicious. It has a nice, quiet linger.

Draft at the brewery. Dark brown with just an initial sudsy head that died immediately. Nutty, woodsy and drinkable, it has just a mellow bite in the finish. (#4214, 8/21/2011)
