One of the best beers i had while in Maine. I loved the crisp hops. Great summer beer for the hop lover.

Sample at the brewery. Definitely the pick of the litter in a reasonably strong group. Dark brown colour with a decent tan head and foamy lacing for such a little plastic cup. Aroma is hops and some sweet malts. Taste is bitter, but not overwhelmingly so, with some good hop flavour and a hint of grapefruit. Crisp, medium body. Overall, this fits nicely with the Atlantic Canadian bitters just over the border and if it weren’t for that damn limit on alcohol I’d have happily brought a few back.

Reddish brown, hoppy, dry, bitter. Very nice. Subtle. Delicious. It has a nice, quiet linger.

Draft at the brewery. Dark brown with just an initial sudsy head that died immediately. Nutty, woodsy and drinkable, it has just a mellow bite in the finish. (#4214, 8/21/2011)
4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 drpimento (1741) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 23, 2011
I let this bomber warm up a bit out of the fridge first. Poured with a nice foamy, thick, light tan head that lasts and good lacing. Color is a clear copper and has plenty of bubble trails. Aroma is malt, hop, toffee, a little caramel. Flavor is like aroma, has little sweetness and is true to style although I could even say it’s perhaps like an ESB. Body is good and so is carbonation. Finish is like flavor, has medium length and is balanced. Good beer. Session for sure.

Cloudy amber with a lacing head that settles to film. The aroma is bread and yeast, sweet malt, no hint of what’s to come. The flavor starts of malty but quickly ends up with a very big hop presence. It has a long lasting after taste, is very crisp and clean, and smooth.
2.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ejector_crab (3) - Binghamton, New York, USA - DEC 14, 2010 does not count
UPDATED: DEC 15, 2010 Picked this up in a 22oz bottle after touring the brewery. Served in a pint glass.
Aroma: fairly unpleasant overall; musky, damp; reminiscent of a wet rag
Appearance: color is a deep red copper; hazy; head is light, but retains throughout.
Taste: medium malt; medium bitter; malt and hop are balanced relatively well; not a very complex taste; unpleasant aroma detracts from overall taste.
Palate: medium to full body; moderately smooth; leaves a dryness after the finish; average carbonation; slight astringent in the finish.
Overall: An OK beer start to finish, with various ups and downs. Would probably drink again.

22oz. Bottle: Aroma of malt, Earth, toasting, nuts, and a hint of diacetyl. Poured amber in color with a small, creamy, dense, rocky, tan/beige head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malt, slight nuts, toasting, and general malty sweetness. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Malt and slight nut finish is light to medium sweet.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Drake (5230) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - OCT 28, 2010
Bomber at the 12th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering on 9/18/10. Thanks! Pours a tea-copper color, slightly hazy, with a thin head. Aroma of caramel and a bitter hop finish. The taste is caramel, bitter roasty notes, herbal hop finish with an earthy note. Medium bodied. Very bitter beer.
2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 ruskiimperial (308) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - OCT 13, 2010
Poured a hazy light brown. On the smell, I honestly couldn’t get much more than cat urine, it was pretty bad. Taste has some bready malts with some slightly funky bitterness. Perhaps the hops had definitely dropped off in this one. Perhaps it was better at one point but not now.
