4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft at Standard Market, where I only have the menu to tell it’s a collaboration between Atlas, Begyle, Lake Effect, SlapShot, Spiteful, Fleck, and other brewers. But then the brewer from SlapShot happened to come in. He said the ’collaboration" involved the Atlas guy doing the brewing, while everyone else there ate tacos. But that counts. Very cloudy yellow, with an inviting parfait head. Smell is of golden malt, with a bit of wild yeast tanginess and yeast. The description said they were shooting for a Duvel style Belgian Golden, and they hit it pretty well. Zesty note of citrus—or lemongrass, tight champagne-like carbonation, and a sharp hop bitterness without spice or floral notes. Happily enjoyable, I call it a hopeful sign of spring to come.

At the brewpub. A strong not very cloudy but hoppy version of a wit. Dry and a little crisp. Serving: Tap
