Pours a tame dark brown with a tan lacing. Milk chocolate, lactose .mild infection setting in. Overall well balanced

Draft at Stoutfest. Pours a deep brown/black with a dark tan head. Carries the characteristic earthy notes of a lot of Atlas beers. Cocoa and toasted malt comes through, light tart notes. Faint herbal hops. On tasting, moderately creamy with a light sweetness and again some tart notes. Chocolate and medium bitterness. Decent.

Draft pour on tap at Stout Fest 2013 (Chicago, IL). Pours a richer deep blackish pour, deeper haziness, with frothy loose light brown head atop. Big bubbles, mellow lacing, nice layer. Aromas are gentle cocoa, toffee, and some pretzels. Gentle toastiness, biscuits, and bread. Initial is a bit sweet, cocoa and creaminess, lactose sweetness, vanilla and milk sugars. Some gentle sweetness, milk chocolate, sweetness. Cocoa, some toastiness. Middle shows a bit of girth, cocoa, and tofee. A bit sweet, some frothy sweetness. Caramel, cocoa, and and sweetness. Backend is a bit toasty, cocoa, mellow yet growing sweetness as we round that corner. Finish is sweetn biscuity, toasty and lactose milk chocolate flavors. Pretty solid sweet stout. A bit much for me at times as far as the level of creamy lactose sweetness, but fans of the style should seek this out.
