COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Seasonal - December to February.
Atlas Brewery’s winter beer, Blizzard, is a rich golden 4.7%, with a distinct warming spiciness and a dry hoppy aftertaste.
The beer is brewed with a combination of four different malts and three different hops. This provides a sophisticated balance of different aromas and flavours to tickle the tastebuds and warm the toes through the winter months.

Cask @ The Muckle Cross Elgin
Dark amber..clear..thick dense white head.....good lacing
Aroma of christmas spices..rich caramel malts...some dough
Taste of christmas spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, no cloves, just right, good flavour and not overpowering), rich dark caramel malts..dark honey....bit of toffee...bit doughy...tastes better than Clootie Dumpling.
Palate...soft carb..medium body...sweet malts. Finish - malty...rich....christmas spices
Overall - seems like the same year’s spices as in Clootie but this is better. A really nice winter beer.

On gravity at Tewkesbury beer festival, 4/2/2011. Put here with the other 2011 raitngs, although I guess it night be time to set up anew berr up against Orkney brewery. Medium brown in colour with a slight, off-white head. Aromas of marmalade, root ginger and cinnamon with some citrus hops. Flavour was sweetish, with earthy malts and warming spice used sparingly. Finish was dryish. An enjoyable winter beer.

This beer is not retired. Cask @ The State Bar. Mild hop & malt aroma. Medium brown colour. Toffee apple flavour. Quite smooth but a bit bland.

Standing order, edinburgh. Lovely deep amber color let down by a thin head. Not much aroma either. Great taste of malty hops, cinnamon, nutmeg and tasty spicyness. Overall a lovely ale let down by appearance and aroma but I might put that down to the taps going on my previous expense experiences of Atlases ales.

A cask of this came on while I was about to leave Kay’s Bar, so I had to stay for another half pint. Dark amber body. Fair amount of lacing-head. Smell of dark fruits and mid-sweet malts. Dried hops to the flavour resting on a malty backbone. Good bitter ending. Well balanced. Has obvious returned from retirement (Edinburgh, 28.11.2010).

Cask Conditioned at The Castle, Furnival St., London
Dark amber color; thin frothy head. Aroma of caramel and toffee, old meat. Caramel flavor, light residual sweetness, but the buttery touch tastes like old meat. Correct bitterness. Weird, not good.
