COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by the beers that accompanied America’s expansion into the West, District Common is fermented using a lager yeast at temperatures common to ale fermentation. The result is a pale, well-balanced beer combining crisp lager character with fruity ale notes. The clean grain bill provides a refreshing drinkability and supports late aroma additions of Czech Saaz hops.

This is a decent common and its certainly well-balanced, though I would’ve like a bit more flavor. It has a pretty non-descript, dirtiness to it...

Not bad for style. The thing about steaming like this is the barley doesn’t come out so much. Pours yellowy orange with ok head and lacing. Some crisp finish. Tap at Brixton.

Draft. Poured a slightly hazy pale amber. Light fruit, lightly spicy hops aroma. Crackers and light malt. Easy drinking.

On draft at Thunderburger in D.C. The beer is mostly clear and golden hued with a soft white head. Malt, biscuits and some mild hoppiness in the aroma. Easy drinking and clean. Refreshing with a dry finish. Light in body with zesty carbonation. A decent beer. I enjoyed my pint.

Location/Date:Draft at Comet Ping Pong, 11/22/2013.

Appearance: Pours orange.
Aroma: Aroma of light hop, hint of lager character
Taste: More balanced than I’ve had other California Commons, nice amount of hops for the style.
Palate:Light body.

Summary: I was pleasantly surprised by this. Didn’t know what to expect. Would definitely have again.

Easy drinking but uninspiring. A good sessionable beer and should be a staple of their lineup but nothing amazing.

Draught @ Smoke and Barrel, Washington, D.C. Pours clear amber with small off-white head. Clear aroma of malt with fruity notes. Bitter, hoppy flavour with notes of malt and metal with fruity notes. Metaælic and slughtly fruity aftertaste. Could be better.

Tap at the brewery. Pours clear gold with a medium, frothy white head, short retention with good lacing. Aroma is Pils and cereal malt with earthy and minty hops. Flavor is medium hops and bitterness, sweet malt and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Pour is a clear amber with a average white head. Aroma is malty and sweet with something like gingerbread. Flavor is again malty but think with a roasted nut thing going on after the swallow. Ok beer and right on for the style.

On draft at ChurchKey. Wonderful aroma of roasty caramel. Flavor starts with so much fizzy carbonation that it takes a moment to get to toasty malts, nuttiness and then a faint bittering of hops. Ends a smidge on the sticky side. Pleasant.
