5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
"Complex flavor" is an understatement for this beer. Way more to it than just being a standard pale ale with a bit of rye. Great balance between the malts, rye and hops with the citrus hop profile coming through little bit after the rye. Incredibly versatile as it is easy drinking enough for a hot summer day but will definitely work well through the fall and winter. My new go-to.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark amber pour. Huge rye spice Caremark and bready nose and flavor. Bitterness is there, but the hop flavor and aroma seems quite faded. No date on the can, but seems on the old side. Intriguing enough to seek out on tap one day.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Where: Old Line Fine Wine Spirits & Bistro.
How: 12 ounce can.
Appearance: was dark amber or reddish, head was pretty solid and lasted a while.
Aroma: little on the lighter side as far as rye maybe, hops, green and floral mostly.
Taste: Caramel and brown sugar, with the rye spice, fairly bitter, tobacco, grass, earth.
Palate: it’s a fairly clean and dry beer.
Overall: Overall a rye beer I can kind of easily enjoy and no think over too much.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can at Reagan International Airport. Pours a near clear deep brown with a light brown head that lasts throughout the beer and laces. Aroma has lots of rye with light roasted malts and a bit of bitter pine coming through. Flavor is full of rye with some sweet dark grains, a hint of pine and some bread underlying.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz can from a friend The ale poured a clear dark amber with a frothy off white head and lacing. The head had good retention. The aroma of hay mixed with some spices. The ale has a medium body with average carbonation. The flavor of earthy hops provides a muted bitterness. Nice ale with a clean finish with the rye providing some spiciness at the end.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
The rye spiciness comes through, but melds into what seems like a touch of roasted malt to give an overall impression of ashtray. Not a bad beer overall, just put off by this one note.

The malt is expressed as dark rye bread, seed bread, caramel. Western hops give it a fruit cocktail / maraschino cherry and orange notes along with faint resin and some noble-like pepperiness and nuttiness. Medium bodied, medium to light sweetness with relatively strong bitterness, finishing long and savory and a little juicy. Pretty nice rendition here, ample malt body to support the strong bitterness, and as it warms it gets more aromatic and interesting, developing layers of spiced / nutty hops and peppery phenols.
