4 oz. taster at Atlas. Coppery amber color, with just a ring of foam that was like that when they first poured, before I got to the two lighter beers in this taster. Clear and present APA hop smell from the start. Taste is fully formed American hops that are overwhelming the malts with dry hoppiness, big on pine resin. The minimal alcohol note lets that hoppiness really push through.

Yellow pour with an off-white head. Aroma is fruity hops. Taste is a nice malty body equally balanced by the hops. Slight fruit hop flavor, mild but present. Nice lacing. Easy to drink.

Rated on 3-21-2016. (Bottle) The appearance is a large fizzy white head that is mostly lasting, transparent yellow like the sun, fizzy carbonation, and spotty amount of lacing. The aroma is citrus hops, tropical fruit, earthy, and light pine hops. The flavor presents medium-heavy bitterness, citrus hops and tropical fruit. The mouthfeel of this beer is moderate carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. A very quaffable APA with a good hop, bitter taste. It is a refreshing beer for me personally, worth trying and a beer I would partake in again.

Pours such a light gold color it almost looks like a white. The thinnest of white heads with no lacing. Smells like earthy, malty grain. Taste is the same as the aroma. Just a bland grainy nothing.

12oz can from Cork Keg in Rockford. Pours a pale yellowish orange with a bit of a white head. Aroma has pine, citrus and grass with light caramel that fades in and out. Taste is of sweet fruits, light lemon, some sprucy pine and some bready malts. Light to medium bodied with little alcohol presence. Finishes sweet and light. Quite sessionable, nothing bad, but nothing too outstanding either. 13.2

Light malt character, but with a type of sweetness and light hops. A clean, short finish.

12 oz. can. Pours a hazed amber with a medium white head. Aroma of bright citrus and piney hops, mild doughy malt. Flavor is hoppy, crisp, with medium bitterness. Light malt sweetness. Medium bodied. Finishes hoppy. Pretty nice.

On tap, poured into a shaker. Pleasant, mild pine aromas with a subtle lemon citrus greet the nose, followed by undertones that are lightly earthy and yeast. It pours a clear, brilliant pale with gelatin-dense white foam head that has an above average retention and lacing. It’s maybe a hint more sweet than bitter, but overall, it’s a balanced medium bittersweet. The texture is a bit watery with a light cream carbonation and a medium light body with flavors of lemon and mineral water that finishes with a citrus zest and a bit of pine. The aftertaste is clean pine spice. Generally, not too dissimilar from Half Acre’s Daisy Cutter, maybe a bit sweeter, not as dry, and a lighter body.

Tap at Atlas. Unfiltered orange-tan body. About 12oz in my pint. Big orange-hued white head. A decent APA, but can’t hang with the rest of the Chicago crew. Watery, fresh, boring. Orange tinged bitterness. Good, but lacking the hardcore modern feel I had hoped for. Better than average still, OK.

Draught@Atlas Brewing Company, Chicago. Slightly cloudy golden color, lasting white head. Bright, hoppy aroma. Crisp, hoppy flavor with citric notes. Medium body, medium carbonation. Nice balance, good beer.
