April 2009 Clear gold beer. Dry and crisp palate. Nice level of hops without being too aggressive in the bitterness department.
2.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 MesandSim (7109) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 5, 2009
A Mes rate. Cask handpull at Baker Street ‘Sporks. Clean gold with a good White head and lots of lace. Nice chewy resinous hop aroma with hints of citrus and a delicate sweetness in the background. The flavour is on a whole different level. And sadly, not a good one. Metal. Full on metal. It’s like sucking on a tin can. Bloody awful and not fit for sale. Spoons? Surely the brewer wouldn’t let it go like this. Must have been Spooned.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 sm89walt (1418) - Norwich, Norfolk, ENGLAND - MAY 17, 2009
Cask - Wetherspoons, Canterbury. Golden coloured, average sized white head. Light and hoppy aromas, much of the same in the flavours with an ever-so-slight hint of maltiness coming through. Medium body with a smooth though fairly bland finish.

Cask in the alfread herring. Alround rating: Grainy lager malts, light sulphuryness, fruity limey character, dry grassy bittering hop. Coconut esters later.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Rune (4924) - Tromsø, NORWAY - MAY 6, 2009
Cask, half pint in fine condition at the JDWs festival. Low, white head leaving kirchenfenster on the glass. Clear golden body. Mild hoppy aroma. Ditto taste with a resin-oily touch. Nice and lingering bittersweet aftertaste. Medium bodied. Quite pleasing to the palate (Wheatsheaf Bar in Stoke, 02.05.2009).
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 downender (4380) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - APR 26, 2009
Cask-conditioned at the Knights Templar (JDW), Bristol 26/04/09. Deep gold in colour with a slight white head. Sweetish aroma, with some honey and floral hops. Flavour had some grains, citrus and floral hops and a decent bitter finish. Pretty good.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 hughie (3992) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 22, 2009
Cask at ’Spoons, Milton Keynes, in ’Spoons Real Ale Festival, April ’09. Copper gold with a small white head. Aroma was initially buttery but eventually hops came on strongly. The promised honey never appeared, so the taste seemed a bit grim and sour. Sharp hoppy finish. Somehow this was a bit rough and tough for a golden English spring evening.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 berkshirejohn (3014) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - JUN 1, 2007
Cask at the Hobgoblin, Reading, Berkshire. Crystal clear pale gold body loose cream head, leaving plenty of lacing as consumed; predominantly hoppy aroma; citrus and grainy flavours; with a pleasing dry and bitter finish. A well-rounded ale, but I didn’t detect any honey.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 RoyceH (1153) - Hesperange, LUXEMBOURG - MAY 23, 2007
Cask, Whey Pat Ale Festival, St Andrews. Gold with no head. Floral hops in the nose, some citrus. Mouth is much the same, slightly more sweet, caramel, but citrus hops dominate. Bitterness lives through to the palate. Quite drinkable, but lacks robustness.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 imdownthepub (7461) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 20, 2007
Cask conditioned at Coventry Beer Fest ’07. Pale gold, green with white head. Light hoppy easy drinking beer, also reminding me of a Kolsch. Bright and sessionable, sweet malt on the finish.
