3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 jamestulloch (477) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 28, 2013
Aroma: Straw, light citrus, pine and biscuit.
Appearance: Clear golden body with a medium off-white head. Average carbonation. Light lacing.
Taste: Beautifully balanced. Nice burst of lemon and peachy fruit notes. Freshly cut grass with biscuit flavours in there too. Sweet malt and soft hop bitterness.
Palate: Thin to medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Gentle carbonation fizz.
Overall: Arguably more of a golden ale than an IPA, but it’s very bright and tasty. I’m a big fan of beers from the Orkney Brewery.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 McNeillR (254) - SCOTLAND - SEP 9, 2012
Marmalade body and a squeeze of a sturdy white head. Nice and dry crumbly hop hit on the initial taste that works a breakfast cereal bar sweetness on the palate. A really neat tang on the finish with just the right hit of bitter tartness.
Probably their most consisent, flagship brew for me over the years, although only a summer brew. Pleased that it still stands up under the Rate spotlight.
Cask, The Chanter, Edinburgh (Ver and Lamb’s Birthday)

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 DnAuK (112) - South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - APR 21, 2012
Hazy gold in appearance. Tropical fruit on the nose. Taste is all about the bittering hops which smack of pineapple and grapefruit. A little bit thin to be perfect. Some more malt would add a touch of sweetness too. But still a great session beer.
