Wayfarer India Pale Ale (4.4% abv) is a brilliant golden ale with a dry, refreshing bitterness, in the style made famous by Scottish and English brewers’ exports to slake the thirsts of the Raj.
Small amounts of Crystal Malt, Caramalt and Atlas Malted Wheat are added to our best Pale Ale Malt to give this beer its distinctive caramel-and-biscuit maltiness. This, together with a spiciness from Bramling Cross hops, dominates the appealing nose.
On the palate, the Bramling Cross hops and our yeast combine to produce a distinctive yet delicate orange-marmalade taste.
The aftertaste is dominated by a strong but smooth bitterness, which gives this beer a clean, refreshing finish.

Cask at Cloisters. A golden ale with a lacy white head. Strange caramel sweets aroma. Butter and sugary aromas also. Grapefruit and pineapple flavours with some passion fruit. A little chewy with a dry finish.

Bottle B&M. Quite cloudy, pale yellow, thin white head. Lovely citrus fruit hop and biscuity malt nose. Hoppy palate which lingers well...nice! Good beer, shame its so hazy!

Bottle from Meny. Pours hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is fruity hoppy. Taste is fresh fruity bitter, with a unpleasant butterscoth addition, ruined this one for me.

Bottle - Yellowy Gold in colour. Fruity; grapefruit and lemon citrus. Hoppy; piney and grassy hops. Malty; biscuity malts, caramel. Good fruit/hop/malt balance. Moderately bitter citrus fruity meets sweet malts. Increasingly bitter into the dry finish. Very drinkable.

500ml Bottle: BBD end of Feb 15, poured twice into a half-pint countryman glass tankard at home on 29th Dec 13. A slight haze in my golden bodied beer, the white head tried to stay the distance and almost made it, carbonation bubbles rose throughout the 500ml. A little too citrusy and raw for my palate, piny feel as well, but those lemon flavours did for me. The malts were not strong enough to give any sweetness to the brew and that allowed the hops ’free range’ to do as they wished. Just not ’my cup of tea’, but I’ve scored it objectively!

500ml bottle from Sainsbury - Orange gold with a white head that disappears, leaving a light skim. Negligible citrus aroma, .very juicy citric flavours with a definite lemon-drop sweetness and zesty spiciness. Refreshing mildly bitter finish.

Bottle on the train from Inverness to Hereford, from Tomlinsons, 21/10/13. Lightly hazed golden with a good sized off white head. Nose is toasted malts, grass, bitter orange, citric notes, soft bread dough. Taste comprises bitter orange, grass, bread dough, toasty malts, mandarin, citrus tang. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry grassy finish in the conclusion. Ok GB affair.
