Grest dark, forceful colour. Beautiful slightly dark-coloured head. Sweet smell. Good sweet taste. Medium bitterness. Though dissapointing ending. Abrupt. Good start - booring ending ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at the courtesy of Rune. High creamy and long lasting off-white head. Almost black body but in fact it is very dark red brown. Aroma of star anise alcohol and vanilla as well as a nice shot of choccolate. Also in the flavor the liqourice is quite dominant. Apart from that it is a bit flat and metallic with a bit of choccolate, little hops bitterness, low carbonation and a short sweet finosh.

24.12.2013. 0,33l Bottle. Vinmonopolet Kvadrat, Sandnes. Dark brown colour with off-white head. Aroma of dark malts. Good malty body with nice bitterness. Some malt sweetness as well. Good beer to the rather strong Norwegian dish pinnekjøtt. Dried, smoked lambs ribs. Steam boiled for three hours. This is really a salty smoked meat dish with mashed Kohlrabi(?) and potatos. If anybody would care to try it, just give me a msg and come over!! Ill make it any time!! Merry Christmas!!

Pours dark, with a tanned, dense head. Some maltyness, some detectable hops. Good balanced, but not much aroma to pick up on.

Foffern (1190) - Bodø, NORWAY - DEC 20, 2013
Bottle at home. Pours a deep reddish brown colour with a medum, light beige head. Slightly roasted aroma with dried fruit, nuts, wood and leather. The flavour don’t follows up and is pretty light and strange. A bit roasted. Slick mouth feel, and has a light to medium bitterness. An interesting aroma but the flavour disappoints.

Large and thick beige head with strong malt aromas. Smells more roots than toffee however. Body is very dark but no thickness. Taste is light with bad malts aftertaste. No length in palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep red color, light brown head. Roasted malt nose, dried fruit, pleasant yeasty note, present alcohol. Malty taste with hints of coffee, nuts and chocolate, sweet, balanced bitterness. Medium body. Nice and warming winter ale, but not quite what I expect from a Christmas seasonal.
