Cask (handpump) @ KIT - Kelham Island Tavern, 62 Russell Street, Sheffield, South Yorkshire England S3 8RW.

Clear dark red brown color with a small average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, fruity, moderate hoppy, dusty. Flavor is light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20100426]

Cask Handpump at the Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield 24/04/2010 Some spiced aroma. Dark coloured and very strong in alcohol with a fruity and slightly dry earthy finish.

Cask, Rugby BF 2010. Burgundy with a determined tan head. Big Mikkeller-style floral and exotic hop aroma mingled with husky malts and burnt toast; hutch and Crunchie if you go digging: 9?. Slick and bittersweet; tropical hop to the fore smothered in high cocoa, wash of well-done malts, scrape of fire alarm toast. immaculate balance. Fine husky nut finish. Sticks around. Slightly ashy, no alcohol warm. One of the best strong English beers I’ve ever had. ABV irrelevent; love the smoke and hops. Syrupy as it warms, but so well held in check. Could happily sink a few pints of this and make a complete twat of myself. Let’s face it if it was available online and said ’Mikkeller’, ’Brewdog’ or ’De Molen’ on the bottle we’d be clamouring to pay 10 quid a bottle. DO IT ATOMIC.

Cask, gravity at Merton Winter Beer Festival 06-02-10 Pours dark brown with some shards of ruby glinting through. This is full on and the alcohol is noticeable straight away mingling in with some fruit on the nose. really warming and heavy in the mouth, alcohol is there but slowly subsiding to reveal a clear hoppiness and a rich soaked dried fruitiness. Likeable but a beast of a beer. A6 A4 F7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Cask conditioned at Merton Winter Beer Fest 2010. Very dark brown, red hints, no head. My word this is a big beer, initially a big medicinal note, Vic’s cough medicine with a chunk of liquorice. It settled down though and became smoother and a little more fruity, blackcurrants. The alcohol doesn’t shy away, it’s in your face, literally. Still medicinal in the finish. Challenging.
