Cask, gravity at Merton Winter Beer Festival 05-01-10 Pours gold with a white head, there is a floral and honey nose to this, in fact it has a quite lovely aroma. Taste is fine but its a case of ’After the Lord Mayors Show’ when compared to the aroma, I find it fruity, with just a touch of the honey in the nose showing, I don’t really get much else. Whilst I don’t think thiis would have been the beer of the festival it was easily the quickest to sell out. A8 A4 F6 P3 Ov13 3.5

Cask conditioned at Merton Winter Beer Fest 2010. Pale gold with white head. Bright and light golden ale, cereal notes with a greenish flavour. Perfumed, fruity hops, yes Duncan I got Gooseberry too and the tangy finish. Pretty reasonable.

Cask handpull at the brewtap. Straw capped with thinning white. Dab of sour winegummy lemon and gooseberry fruit aroma immediately reminiscent of....Orval??. Yep, flavour chewy with gooseberry and orange hop, lingering dry husky malts, flour, drop of disinfectant, peanut. Dry, fruity and very slightly sour like a juvenile Orval shandy. Praise indeed.
