esjaygee (1260), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Jun 20, 2009 Ultra lively golden straw yellow with a sudsy large moderately dissipating white head. Aroma of toasted malt, apple, fruit and light yeast. Taste of fruit, alcohol, malt and mild spicy yeast. Palate is lively and it’s a bit sticky. Not a huge fan of Belgian blondes as they tend to be a bit ho-hum and not as complex as every other Belgian style. satan165 (383), River Grove, Illinois, USA May 29, 2009 nose of huge citrus and yeast with light phenols. flavor of sticky nearly overpowering yeast and plenty of fruits: orange, tangerine and nearly pineapple. heavy mouthfeel is very interesting. not overly boozy but you know its strong. a big and wonderful beer. swoopjones (1484), Buffalo, New York, USA May 20, 2009 On tap at The HopLeaf, Chicago. Pouras an Amber orange. Aromas of yeast, spice, bananas & cloves. Sort of a Belgian hefe. Taste was yeasty, spicy, clovey. Pretty good jstraw (655), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 3, 2009 Amber with fair, creamy off-white head / Nose of sweet banana and spice / Medium to full body, sweet and malty with no discernable hopping, and with good finish / Flavors of banana, cherries, caramel, cinnamon and cloves / A tad cloying, but a good beer nonetheless. FatPhil (3139), Espoo, Finland Apr 4, 2009 330ml bottle (One Pint, Helsinki, Belgian Weeks 2009)
Rich gold, large spongy head. Apple and blackcurrant aroma, light and sour. Frothy carbonation - fizzes in the mouth and tingles the tongue. Sweet caramel and grainy body, a little bit of roast, and some husks too. Some cleaning fluid appears in the aroma when the yeast is added. It softens the taste a bit. Rather uninspiring, but certainly not unpleasant. Covers 8% quite well.
beerbuzzmontreal (2849), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Mar 10, 2009 Pours a cloudy blonde color with a thin white head. The aroma is a bit citric, there’s also yeast and spices. Average flavor of yeast and spices, there’s also a liitle something that feels unpleasant. zapprentice (217), East Setauket, New York, USA Mar 1, 2009 Very smooth yeasty flavor, medium head. decent Belgian, not something I’d go out of my way for though.
