3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Marc (485) - Yokosuka, - APR 8, 2010
Probably the most balanced ipa in japan. Resiny pine laden nose balanced out with a strong caramel and toasted nuts. Sweet and bitter. Toasty malts and caramel/toffee butt heads with herbal hoppiness. Drys tward the end finisshing with a lingering nuttiness and medicinal hoppiness.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 EdKing (936) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 31, 2011
On tap in Thrash Zone, Yokohama. This is a classic double IPA. Colour is clear amber with a thin white head. Nose is big hoppy citrous, with grapefruit, lemon and pine, with nice strong caramel malt backbone. Taste is all of the above. Big bold citrous hop with nice caramel malt, backed up by alcoholic kick.

Kocihi sans hommage to the hops! Great artwork by Jay too. Less finessed than the Green Bullet I had just fiinished, this is still extremely enjoyable. Suits the atmosphere of Thrash Zone to a tee. Big citrus and pine. Big body. Teeth rattling finish. Well put together. This could become a cult japanese beer. Lovely amber colour too. Well done Koichi!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 KyotoLefty (3752) - Kyoto, JAPAN - FEB 17, 2010
UPDATED: APR 20, 2012 Dry hopped version, on cask at the Tokyo Real Ale Festival. Huge frothy head. Cloudy-ass yellow color. Humongous hop aroma. Lovely. Big bitterness, big hop flavor, honey and caramel malt. Over the top but very nice and much better than the non-dry-hopped version.
