Firkin at Hopcat. Brewed special for Hopcat’s 2010 wood and barrel aged ale festival. More of a fruit beer than a stout (like new glarus’ cherry stout). Reddish black with buff, frothy head. Aroma of tart cherry, spicy wood, and fall leaves. Flavor of cherry juice. Just a touch of oak, but barely. Some slight malted profile as well. Some breads and cake batter.
