Octoberfest, a German tradition that celebrates harvest. Now Atwater carries on the tradition with our own special lager "Blocktoberfest". Brewed with 100% German malt for a rich taste and amber color.

Pours an amber color with a nice fine head that diminishes to a lacing around the edge. Very slight malt aroma. Nice malt and hop aroma, somewhat sweet. Fairly good mouth feel. Aftertaste is nice. A good beer, not a great beer.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled in Sept 2012. Pours lightly hazy copper color with a 1 finger fairly dense off white head with very good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Good soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of apple, pear, caramel, toast, biscuit, raisin, nuttiness, molasses, and herbal spiciness. Ok aromas with decent balance; but they are far too fruity and phenolic. Taste of caramel, toast, biscuit, pear, apple, nuttiness, molasses, earth, and herbal spiciness. Lingering notes of toast, caramel, biscuit, nuttiness, earth, and herbal spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Very solid balance of flavors with a fairly robust feel; minimal cloying after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy, slick, and crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very solid oktoberfest. Some good flavor balance and robustness; quite easy and smooth to drink. This was pretty enjoyable.

Pours clear amber with a medium lt tan head. Aroma has roasty malts, dry leaves, and a bit of fruit and caramel. Flavor is nutty and earthy with dry leaves and mild bitterness. Mouthfeel is light/medium and silky with a roasty/earthy and slightly bitter finish.

12oz bottle. Pours an attractive copper orange. Thin, patchy, off-white head. Cherry tinged amber malt aroma, very fruity. There is some sourness in this that whispers infection, even through the respectable malt tones. Creamy smooth malt body, a little hefty at times...not really so true to style. Not horrendous but getting there.

Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Clear dark amber brew with small off white head. Aroma of sweet malts and some sour odor - sort of like vingegar - grassy hops. Taste is rather sweet malts with astringent finish, some old-shoe funk in there that is not totally bad, but odd. Light bodied with a water palate. OK but not outstanding.

Slightly hazy, orange-amber with a light tan head. Scent is caramel malt. Taste is lightly spiced, sweet over a a slight hop bitter. A nice straightforward beer.

12 oz. Bottled Aug 12. Darkish copper with a ring of bubbles that tries to last. Nose is molasses and malt extract. Taste is malt extract, tin, and a touch of spicy dry grass on the finish. Near-medium body is sweet and has medium carbonation.

A copper color with a beige head. The aroma contains some caramel, corn, and spices. The flavor is rather dull with a slight malty presence. This tastes more like Michelob Amber Bock or Shiner Bock than an o-fest. The finish is somewhat dry. Overall not very good.
