Octoberfest, a German tradition that celebrates harvest. Now Atwater carries on the tradition with our own special lager "Blocktoberfest". Brewed with 100% German malt for a rich taste and amber color.

Red amber color with a white head. Does not have a prominate smell. The taste is chemical and has a bad after taste.

Draft at MBGSF07 from notes. Pours a clear amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have toasted bread, grass, caramel, mild bitterness to the finish, like many of their beers, boring with not much to get excited about.

Pours deep honey brown with a smallish tan head that fades quickly to a rim and coat. Aroma is caramel and bready malts with nice honey overtones. Taste is corn, bready malts, some caramel, honey up front and noble hops out the back. Finishes quite bitter. Really a high quality Okto for fans of the style. I enjoyed the balance of bitterness.

Drank from a pint poured from a twelve ounce bottle purchased from Wegmans. Aromas of sweet malts. Pours a reddish, amber with a little bit of head and a small amount of carbonation. Decent sweetness in the beginning leaving an odd bitter finish.

Pours a clear dark brown with a frothy head. Aroma of sourdough bread. Taste of syrupy dark malts. Sweet up front followed by a sharp bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap. Dark red. Nice lingering head. Nose is very "beer." Tastes of good hearty charred malts, sweet caramel. Great oktoberfest.

Pours a soft and translucent copper brown with two fingers of tan head. Nose is malt forward with some appley acetaldehyde notes, malt forward, not too nuanced. Some toasty notes and caramelish sweetness. Rough on the edges. Some biscuity/toasty malt notes in the flavor. Meh

UPDATED: SEP 24, 2014 Bottle: Deep brown, slightly red & mahogany body with a beige-gray head that settles quickly; mild lacing. Aroma of tomato soup, creamed corn, toasted bread, sweet malts.... What? Taste is equally perplexing with a strong stewed tomato & vegetal flavor. Peppery malts, toast, nuts, & a stale yeast aftertaste. Medium bodied. Leave it to Atwater to butcher basically every style of beer.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle with a clipped off date of March 2015. Handsome medium amber pour with a big off-white head. The aroma is generally subtle but I pick up some sweet malts and a nutty character more associated with a brown ale. Hops are distant. Medium body. The flavor is more akin to a sweet brown ale than what I expect from an Oktoberfest. Certainly I get malts but they are nutty malts. This would be a great brown ale but as an Oktoberfest it is only above average.

12oz bottle shared. Pours a bright amber color with off white head. Aroma is medium to heavy malt. Flavor is malt and some caramel. Minor hop presence on the end. Decent for what it is.
