Reviewed from notes. Pours dark brown with a thin off white head and a toy amount of lacing on the way down. Nose brings forward sweet berries.and some backing chocolate. The taste consists of the same two components, although the cherry stands out more here. Feel is a bit strange. Medium body. Drinkability is quite poor, as the monotonous flavors get old in short order. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 10-12-2010

Poured a black color. Tan head. Great aroma of cherry and malts but the taste really disappointed compared to the aroma. Highly carbonated and just not strong for a stout. Blah, won’t try this again.

bottle. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of tart cherries, faint chocolate and some roastiness. Flavor was sweet and tart black cherries, chocolate, light coffee and some roast with a thin body and had a dry tart finish.

Draught from peculier pub. Poured dark and tasted like sour cherries, naturally. Better than expected.

12 oz. bottle from Siciliano’s Market in Grand Rapids, MI. Dark brown, nearly black, pour with an enormous foamy khaki head. Aroma of light smoke, roasted coffee, and just a hint of cherry juice. Sour cherries can be detected in the flavor as well as some dark chocolate and smoke but none of the flavors are as big and bold as I would have liked.

Black, creamy tan head. Aroma of mild cherry tartness, smoke, roast malt. Taste is also kind of burnt with some cherry tartness. Better than expected. Medium body, soft carbonation.

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2010 12 oz bottle. Aroma has red cherry with chocolate and a little roastiness and cream. Fruit comes in the flavor across more like black cherry or raisin, cinnamon even, with some cocoa, roastiness, and black licorice. The stout part of the beer is a bit thin, but the cherry part is rather interesting.

Atwater the fizzy beers. Much has bee said about this characteristic, so, pour cautiously. The head remained throughout the drink which lasted for more than - fill in the blank and was about half an inch to the end. The aroma is coffee with a hint of cherry and cholcolate as is the taste. Atwaters have big noses to use a wine term. The appearance is opaque brown. Lacing is clouds that remain. The aftertaste is mildly bitter. I liked it. However, I am tired of having to be aware that Atwater brews need vigilante monitoring when poured. Since I bought this some months ago, I have not seen the Atwater selections in Massachusetts.

Draught, 5.9% as Atwater Cherry Porter. Malty aroma, not that roasted, but slightly fruity. Almost black colour, seems hazy. Looks like prune juice when the glass is almost empty. Almost no head. The flavour has a good cherry, raisin and cinnamon combination. There is a little tartness from the cherries, like good sour ones. The cherry is a little fat and vulgar, but that works well with the oxidised note.
