Ok, Iím going to rate this very low, but in this case, it seems warranted. Some recent reviews have talked about how fizzy this beer is, and indeed, one of my previous experiences with it was very fizzy. However, in the fullness of time, I seem to have forgotten this flaw, and now find myself sitting in the middle of my bedroom, with half a bottleís worth of beer foam on my floor and possessions. The fact that this is a sub-par brew only adds insult to injury. F*ck you, Atwater Block Brewery. Iím going to go clean my carpet.

Bottle. The beer has got a ruby-black colour with a steady head and medium body. Aroma of malt and cherries. Taste of malt, cherries, straw, bread and mild coffee. Thin finish.

I got a beer from Detroit as a souvenir yesterday, yay! Made with a Michigan cherry concentrate it pours an inky black with a thin beige head. The aroma is maraschino cherries, some cinnamon like spicing and very mild chocolate.

Light bodied with a prickly carbonation. The taste is tart black cherries, a bit of roastiness and some chocolate. A decent enough beer though the cherry flavor verges on the artificial.

Aroma is dark malts, earthy and a hint of cherries. The flavor is cherries, dark malts, mild sweetness and a mix of tart and acidic in the finish.

Bottle shared with koleminer20, out of Dumpster Day box #1. Atwater is terrible and should just stop and go get office jobs or something. Aroma is adjunct lager, just fucking terrible, no cherry or stout qualities whatsoever, bready, sweet. Appearance is brown, light tan head, poured light, looks fucking terrible. Taste is sweet, no cherry, no roasted malt, nothing good, this is shit. Mouthfeel is intensely carbonated, light bodied, there is no way to give this beer a compliment. Overall, Atwater is terrible. There is no reason for them to continue. They give a bad name to the already weak Detroit beer scene as their flagship brewery. Iím ashamed to say they come from my hometown.

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear very dark mahogany brown color, abundant 2" beige head, no lace. Taste is malt that has toasted chocolate overtones. It adds carbonation and tart sour cherry on the swallow, then turns again to a drying malt to finish. It seems like it would work well, but, in this case, the sour cherry and sweet chocolate were not meant for each other, leaving a brew that is at odds with itself. Not good.

Weirdly bitter, like cherry cough medicine. Would never guess this is a stout either. Pass on this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. bottled Oct. 2015. Pour is opaque black with a spongy foam on top. Nose is vinegar, tart raspberry and a touch of earthy toffee. Flavors are the same plus some creamy lactic acid and notes of fig, banana, cinnamon, soy and charred wood. Medium body has medium carbonation and a nice funky-sour tilt. Iím sure this wasnít intended to be a Wild/Sour but as with many of the Atwater brews Iíve had this one appears to be infected. Fortunately I caught it at the incubation stage and it appeared as a fairly tasty Sour Brown. It was complex and drinkable, but had little resemblance to a cherry stout.

This has a cherry taste from the start and keeps it going. This is not your traditional stout. No real chocolate taste and bitter sweet. This is a great beer to drink.

Sour is obvious from the beginning with scent and the taste follows through. Tart cherries and a touch of balsamic vinegar. Dark color bit clear no haze. Tap
