Has a black color. Smell is mild, some malts. Taste is also mild, a touch of cherry, roasted malts. Overall a mediocre beer.

BOD 2/15. Pitch black pour. Normal head volume, lacing and retention. Very light nose of roast, cherry and a hint of chocolate. Light medium body with a smooth texture. Excellent carbonation with a nice effervescence from the middle on. The outstanding flavor profile is intense, slightly complex and reasonably balanced. It begins with a flood of semi-bitter dark cherry over a subtle roast background. In the middle a tart mild bitterness emerges in a rush of effervescence. The finish begins with a fading bitterness and a very subtle sweet cherry flavor. A slightly tart bitterness lingers.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled in 2/2015. Pours crystal clear very dark brown color with a 1 finger dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of tart cherry, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, light herbal, and roasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of trart cherry and roast/bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big tart cherry, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, light herbal, and roasted earthiness. Fair amount of fruity tartness and roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart cherry, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, light herbal, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of tart cherry and roast/bready malt flavors; with a great roasted bitterness/sweetness and fruit tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good fruited stout style. All around good balance and robustness of tart cherry and roast/bready malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

The beer has a cherry smell to it. Very light for a stout beer. Has a tart taste to it.

Bottle. Pours and looks all the world like a cola float; brown with red highlights, high creamy head, sticky on the side of the glass, the whole nine yards. All it needs is a maraschino cherry and a straw. Nose is light, but what there is is coffee, chocolate, and cherry. On the tongue, there’s some coffee, some faint chocolate, and a lot of unsweetened cherry juice. The cherry’s good, there’s just not much complexity, depth, or weight behind the stout -- so it ends up really out of balance. It’s a shame, because they got the cherry part right. It’s not at all candied or fake. Finish stays in the cherry zone. Disappointing, mostly because it could have been a lot more.

Pours from tap a deep brown with a tan head. Aroma has some qualities of a pilsener, a grassy, malty aroma. Also a faint hint of cherries. Flavour was of cherries, yogurt, sour, and vinegar. Mouth fell carbonated with a tart finish. Ordinary, I guess.

I didn’t really get much of a distinct smell. If I was blindfolded and told to guess what I smelled it would be "a beer". Pours a dark brown with a light tan head that leaves more than a lacing throughout. A tart cherry dominates. Maybe at the end there is a mild malt taste. Slight chocolate? Hard to tell as the tartness overpowers everything. Very thin. Drinkable, but very forgettable.

The pour seems nice, dark with a thin off white head. The only aroma I detect is a hint of coffee. The taste is interesting, rapidly moving from a fizzy malt that moves to cherry really quick, getting more and more tart cherry as you swallow. A bit odd, but I like it.

If I could’ve given less than 1 star I would’ve. Absolutely horrible. I love stouts and cherry beers. This is NOT a stout. Pours thin. Bitter, bitter, not-even-cherry flavor. Horrible waste of money. Huge disappointment.

Poured a black colour with a lively head, but small nose. In the mouth, it is very thin with cherry on the forefront, but not in a good way, it over powers just a bit.

12 ounce bottle. Translucent reddish brown color. Small creamy beige head. Light roasted malt nose is faint. Tart cherry flavor is dominant. Some roasted malt. Not very stout like. Some roastiness and cocoa notes. Light bodied and disappointing. Lacks complexity and depth. Mostly tart and thin.
