2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Hazy orange pour with a white head. Really solventy and soapy aroma, kind of like dish detergent. Grass, pine, and a little bit vegetal. Some sweet caramel, maybe a hint of grapefruit. The flavor is very astringent, bitter, and soapy. Pine and grass, some vegetal notes, and minimal citrus peel. Sweet caramel malt serves as the base.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours chill hazy deep copper orangy with 2-finger creamy well-retained head. Nose is nice; orange marmalade, black pepper, tropical citrus, and caramel malt. Tastes very hoppy, resiny, piney, with a big fresh ground pepper, tangerine, and pineapple mid-palate, and a bitter hoppy finish. Perhaps a bit malt light, but the hops just kick ass in this.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled. Poured clear medium orange with a short-lived off-white head. The aroma picked up kind of harsh, booze-infused pine and peppery hoppage over biscuity malt.. felt bigger than it needed to be. The flavor opened with tangy alcohol and resiny notes, with sweet biscuit and caramel maltage following.. sharp black pepper, pine, and earthy bitterness around.. finished spicy and hot, with an extra dose of raw alcohol in the end.. messy. Medium-bodied and very boozy on the palate..balance was off.. this wasn’t a good DIPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle [355ml]. Pours a hazy orange-copper with an average size diminishing fluffy white head. Aroma of bready malt, resiny hops, citrus, light alcohol and pepper. Lightly sweet flavour of citrus fruit, tropical fruit, resiny hops, caramel malt and a hint of pepper. Average bitter finish. Alcohol is hidden in the flavour. Medium bodied. Pretty good, I enjoyed it.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 Bottle. Lots of hate for this beer based on some of the ratings, but I don’t really get that. Murky orange pour with a smaller white head. Aroma is pine resin and citrus, with caramel malt in the background. Taste is a nice sharp bitter hop profile well balanced by the malt. Bold and interesting - solid beer.
