Onslow (708) - Kalamazoo, USA - DEC 15, 2011
Pour from a 12oz bottle. Orange amber brew with smallish off white head. Nice aroma dominated by complex hops. Taste has a respectable degree of malt at the start but is very hops forward with bitterness kicking in at the start and ending with a very nicely balanced and relatively complex finish. Citrus at the very of the swallow but a long lingiering deep bitter grassy / herbal aftertaste. The hops here have some qualities that remind me of a wet hopped brew - a fresh aspect to the taste that is hard to define. Really fine brew - well crafted, zesty, distinctive but not gimmicky, strong but not boozey... I think this is first thing I’ve tried from Atwater that makes me sit up and take notice.

mmmbeer (1040) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAY 25, 2012
12 oz. bottle served in shaker- poured a 30% turbid copper color with a shade of brown, light carbonation, minimal whisps of white upon the surface for a head. Aroma of pine, lemon, and some caramel. Hits the mouth with wide body, malt is minimal but it gets crushed by hops right from the start, light caramel in the middle, finish is harshly acidic. Definately not to style but I think it’s drinking pretty good at the moment...

Pailhead (3435) - Plymouth, Michigan, USA - MAY 11, 2012
Bottle: The aroma consists of peach, caramel, sweet citrus, and a hint of lemon. It pours a hazy orange with a two finger off-white head that fades to a thin film. The flavor starts with caramel and light peach. The finish has some grapefruit mixed with herbal/earthy/floral hops and a touch of pepper. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Overall, I didn’t notice the date until after I bought it (November 2011). I’ll have to revisit a fresher bottle the next time they release this.

Finhead (704) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - APR 30, 2012
A cloudy, brown pour with an off-white head. The aroma is a little earthy with herbal hops and just a hint of pine. The medium body has a slick texture with average carbonation. It is bitter throughout with some alcohol taste in the finish. I was a little disappointed in this beer.

Pours a cloudy golden copper color with a thin white head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, and hops. Bitter hop ending follows grapefruit and caramel. Decent beer.

DocLock (5966) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 15, 2012
Bottle. Pours chill hazy deep copper orangy with 2-finger creamy well-retained head. Nose is nice; orange marmalade, black pepper, tropical citrus, and caramel malt. Tastes very hoppy, resiny, piney, with a big fresh ground pepper, tangerine, and pineapple mid-palate, and a bitter hoppy finish. Perhaps a bit malt light, but the hops just kick ass in this.

bth122 (578) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 4, 2012
Poured a hazy lite brown color. Full head, frothy. Pretty nice and fresh floral/citrus aroma. Med bitter, lite sweet. Med body, slightly sticky texture. Grapefruit, pine, and some grass in flavor. Not bad.

Sweet and floral hops with a bitter finish. Punchy and crisp with a hint of citrus zest. I nice IPA.

FROTHINGSLOSH (3381) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 23, 2012
Sampled on draft at the Headkeeper this beer poured a murky orange-caramel color with a medium sized creamy orange-white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was sweet pine, resin, lemon, orange, faint tropical fruits and table sugar. The flavor was dryish table sugar with moderate notes of pine, orange, lemon and faint tropical fruits. A bit rough on the hoppiness. The finish was dry pine with a bit of alcohol coming through. Medium body. Ok.

Darker appearance than most IPAs. Lacks the typical DIPA hoppy/citrus, but I like the slight maltiness.

This kind of straddles the line twixt IPA and Double IPA, really. Kind of an IPA & a half, I guess. It has a nice hop profile, but lacks the sweetness that a lot of DIPAs have. Which is actually fine with me, I think a lot of DIPAs tend to be overly sweet. This one was dry, woody, and crisp. I liked it.
