Holding true to the Northern English tradition, the Decadent Dark Chocolate Ale has at its foundation a nutty profile with a round mouthfeel. added is a Chocolate Extract consisting of three blended chocolates of varied depth. The result is a rich, but not overtly sweet, experience for both the beer and the chocolate enthusiast.

12oz bottle - pours dark brown with tan head. Nose is milk chocolate with a light roast. Flavor adds the inside of a co2 container. Odd. Nice nose but the positive stops at the lips. Disappointing finish.

Bottle split with Chudwick, thanks to Chudwick. Aroma is chocolate milk or instant hot chocolate powder, that’s it. Then the palate falls off, comparable to water. Taste brings out a metallic quality.

Bottled. A dark red beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of cocoa beans, chocolate, and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate, cocoa, and straw, leading to a dry finish. Thanks pinball for sharing.

12oz bottle, from Country Fresh for $1.69. Bottled in March. Dark brown color. Little to minimal tan grayish head. Light bit of lace. Lighter to medium body. Light carbonation. Lightly dry texture. If this is supposed to be a stout, it’s a little thin. Chocolate flavor tastes slightly artificial, but I appreciate that its a distinctly darker chocolate flavoring. Moderate roast malt. Hint of coffee. Light bitter taste, moderate sweet. Overall, a pretty solid, tasty, satisfying chocolate ale. Good to enjoy with my midnight snack. I was skeptical at first, but it grew on me as I went.

Tasted on 5/28/13 from a 12oz bottle obtained in the Easter Bunny BIF. Pours clear dark brown with an average beige head that slowly recedes to fairly thick, even lace. The nose is super creamy vanilla with tons of milk chocolate and just a bit of roast. The flavor is quite dry, with the same creamy milk chocolate texture and some dark chocolate roast. The body is actually fairly light with average carbonation and a long milk chocolate with some dark chocolate bitterness on the finish.
