2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Draught and bottled samples at Sunset Grill, Summer 2008.
Itís stuff like this that gives blonde ales a bad name. Dirty, not in the sense that the brewers were looking for, but in the sense of unclean, with glaring brewing flaws (diacetyl, metal, a dirty yeast blandness...) and almost no malt character. Tastes like youíre chewing on a handful of dirt and wheat. Some light citrus seems out of place on the end and the beer just tastes stale, cardboard-like and nothing remotely refreshing-like. Extremely poor aroma strength, maybe a touch of vanillin and old, crusty bread. Watery mouthfeel, though somewhat ameliorated by the wheat in the grist. Horribly boring yeast lacking any character.

One of four different types from a sampler case purchased at Sav On Beer in Pittsburgh. Too much wheat and not enough taste. Tasted kind of acidic.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
This stuff is a bit bland but still a reasonable thing to drink. Odds cloudy orange with a small head. It smells vagully citrusy with some bready malt and some vegetal underpinnings. This is full bodied without being too sweet and the texture is the best thing about it. It is just a little boring overall.

12 oz. bottle at home. Pours a hazy golden with some orange and a medium sized eggshell head. The aroma and flavor have pale wheat malts, mild sweetness, light orange and spice, coriander, just not much to get excited about.
