2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Rated on 6-29-2013 (Bottle) This beer pours a small smooth beige head that is mostly lasting, amber hazy body, lively, fast rising carbonation observed, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is floral hops, spicy, toffee, and malt. The flavor is sweet, toffee, alcohol, spicy, and malt. The mouthfeel is moderate carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. I am not impressed with this beerís flavor. The flavors do not come together and seem a bit disjointed. This is not a beer on my want to drink again list.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of foamy with a frothy top fine to large sized light brown colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a no visible carbonation semi-opaque dark brown colored body and a poor lacing. The mild aroma was dirty. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a bitter mild roasted malt aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of roasted malt burnt malt and hops. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle pour is dark brown, almost mahogany. Very little in aroma. Taste isnít bad, but the palate was a little flat. Donít know why such a bad rap, its not terrible, pretty standard.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a medium brown with a small tan head. Aroma of wood and toast. Flavor of caramel and nuts. Some lacing. Definitely some bitter in the finish. Mine not nearly as carbonated as what Iíve read from others. Maybe this is a little aged. Body is thinner then Iíd expect from something called a double. Drinkable, but not memorable.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
This poured an amber color with little head. The aroma contains a bit of alcohol but also some caramel and malty notes. The flavor is oddly sour with some citrus notes, dark fruit, and more caramel. The finish is a bit harsh. Overall not diggin this beer or this brewery thus far.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours hazy amber with sticky off white lacing. Nice caramel malt on the nose. A good hop-malt balance on the palate with citrus and toast flavors. Really good.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. Dark reddish-brown with a lasting quarter inch of foam. Nose of earth-spiced toffee, a touch of sourish grape must, and light sweet orange. Taste is molasses and cereal grain on the front, then chocolate, date and fig coming in a bit later, and some woody pith bitterness at the end. The bitterness lingers the further you delve into this one, turning what seemed like a malt bomb on its head eventually. Medium-heavy body is smooth and lightly tingly with hops. Odd and a bit incongruous at times, but an interesting concoction that seems somehow like a Christmas-spiced brew.

1.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
This is basically a decent home brew. It was so overcarbonated, I lost 1/3 of the bottle to my counter top. Itís very cloudy. It was so effervescent from overcarbonation. Somebody else wrote that it had a "thin" head, so obviously, itís quite inconsistent. Mine (which i realize may be different than other bottles) is nothing like the description. First of all 7.5% ABV is not "imperial" by the general US definition. Imperial is more like 8.5 to 11%. Second, the description says hoppy aroma and finishes sweet. My beer had a great thick malty aroma with no hops on the nose. The only hops presence were bittering with no hop flavor or aroma. Although different than the description, I was excited about a malt bomb after smelling it. Then I tasted it. big dissappointment! This beer is quite drinkable, but most home brewers make something this good after their second or third batch. This is a terrible store-bought beer. Just not refined at all. Appears like it was fermented in my crawl space at 80 degrees in 5-gallon batches with no secondary fermentation.
