COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A frontal assault on the American IPA style that features not only the classic American Cascade and Chinook hops, but two of the new “Super Cascade” varieties in both the kettle and in the dry hop. Dried and ground orange peel is added to the whirlpool to deliver a citric bittering that sets HopApeel apart from the masses.

Decent aroma, sweet oranges to start followed by some floral hop notes,as it warms some sweet caramel pokes through. Mid hazy burnt orange body with a thin soapy cap that leaves some decent lace. Mouthfeel has a slight carbonation bite, and its on the sticky side. Flavor starts with grapefruit rind and pine but gets rather astringent, some bitterness on the backside. It has some nice attributes but it just does’nt really jive for some reason.

This is an IPA? Tastes like a mildly hopped amber, has that appearance too. Atwater has regularly let me down with their beers, mostly misses. Some bread, stale hops, caramel, muted citrus. I don’t care for it at all.

Bottle, thanks sevenhokie! Strong orange citrus aroma with light notes of pine and floral hops. Pours copper colored with a large off-white head with good retention and very little lacing. Starts with quite a bit of orange citrus flavor with light hop notes. Finishes very dry with pine resin and floral hops quickly overpowering the citrus to a bitter resonating finish. Decent IPA, but the finish is a little astringent.

12 oz bottle. Bottled 5/14. Pours a medium, ivory, well retained, tiny bubbled head, with extensive lacing, over a slightly hazy, amber (SRM 10) body......nose is pine, resin, citrus, light cereal, minimal esters, balance to the hops.....taste is slightly sweet, with floral and honey notes, no toffee/caramel, no esters, pine, resin, citrus notes including orange and tangerine, balance to the hops.....mouth feel, medium body, slight alcohol, high carbonation with light acid. This is a soft IPA, with relatively gentle hops. This may be due to an older age. Alpha acids tend to drop earlier than Beta changing the profile of the bitterness. This bottle is almost English in style rather than American. It is quite good considering the age. BJCP 8/3/16/4/7

Bottle poured a hazy dark orange hue w/ a thick medium sized tan lasting head mild sweet citrus aroma. Initial flavor is moderate sweet w/ a bold bitter finish. Tastes are bitter rind, pith, and a metallic finish. Full bodied. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This draft brew from a restaurant poured a very small sized head of foamy finely sized light tan colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a typically carbonated transparent brown orange colored body and a spiderweb lacing. The mild aroma was malt hop. The sharp mildly vinous clean mouth feel was tingly at the start with a mediumly tingly finish with a bitter hoppy aftertaste. The semi-sharp flavor contained notes of bitter Vienna malt breads and hops. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.
