2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 jarow (237) - Massachusetts, USA - MAY 30, 2010
On tap. Pours a pale golden straw color with a white head. Aroma is mild bready malts, some caramel, not much else. Taste is along the same lines. A bit thin, hops barely detectable. Finish is fairly short, dry, uninteresting. Neither bad nor good.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 willblake (2587) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - APR 2, 2010
20100402 12oz bottle from State Line dated 2/10. Attractive dark golden with small but lingering white head. Aroma is buttery with some mild fresh yeasty bread dough and the slightest sage-like, herbal hops. Medium bodied with prickly eff. Diacetyl flavor is tough to get past, but there are some decent yeast notes for spice.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 joefoodie (15) - USA - MAR 30, 2010
Super malty - notes of honey & bread. The high ABV becomes more evident as the beer warms. The finish becomes less bitter and more sweet. Not a stellar beer, but worth a try.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 esjaygee (2496) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 9, 2009
Particulate laden apricot with a thin off-white head and wispy lacing. Aroma of sour toasted malt and light caramel. Over carbonated quaff tastes of malt, fruit, diacetyl, and mildly burnt malt. Finishes dry and astringent, not a very good brew.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 nuplastikk (2445) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 29, 2009
12oz bottle. Absolute gusher, two inch foamy soapy lasting head. When it finally all made it into the glass it did look pretty nice. Orange amber color, quite murky and thick. The aroma has a nice hop and Bocky malt balance. The taste is relatively straightforward, quality sweet malt. Perfectly balanced, the hops are present, but never overbearing. Great Maibock.

Sampled from bottle: poured a vibrant golden colour with a small but decent sized white head. Aroma is of fresh grains, corn flakes and pears. Taste is awesome, filling, well balanced, with a noticeable but balanced hop finish.

Long ago. At the brewery. Wanting it to be so much better than it was. Very basic in the end. As was the food.

Bottle. Slightly hazy orange amber with a small, firm white head. Aroma is thick with a honey sweetness. Very sweet up front with a little herbal bitterness coming in late. Mouthfeel is almost sticky from the sweetness and carbonation is minimal. Not the best heller that I’ve had.
