Pours dark gold with a lightly malty aroma. Thinnish mouth feel. Nothing all that exciting about this one.

12 oz bottle: Aroma is bready, a nice balance of pungent hops and nice roasted malt characteristics. Appearance is golden with a light orange hue and a large white head that lingers. Taste has got a nice grassy hop note with a really balanced bready malt flavor. Palate is medium to high carbonation, lively on the tongue, and an aftertaste of lingering malt. Overall, Better than what I thought it would be. Cheers!

Light, crisp, golden honey color. Not too hoppy, highly drinkable especially with a higher abv. First beer I've had from this company, but I'll gladly buy more when I see them.

12oz Bottle. Thanks Sean! This is a very, very, very well brewed Maibock, in my opinion. I don’t know if it’s getting slammed because Atwater generally makes lackluster brews or because raters don’t like the style, but this is a very good example. The aroma is a clean, fresh malt with lager crispness. The body is so right on. Honeyed clean cereal-like malts, snappy hops, and a good clean lager finish. The balance between hops, malt, and alcohol is perfect. Very impressive Maibock work. This stays true to the style and manages to stay away from the problems that usually plague smaller-brewer Maibocks, such as lager off-flavors, too sweet, or rough malt flavors.

Cloudy light brown/amber with a good sized off-white head.
Nose is faint sweet malt.
Taste is slightly spiced, mild caramel, just slightly bitter.
It’s not bad....it’s just not very interesting as a whole.
Left me thinking, "....and?"

I tasted the "malty sweetness" touted by the brewer, but disagree with calling it "distinct." A bit of booziness conflicted with the taste. I think this would be a better beer if I had paired it with certain food, but it didn’t really do anything for me. I have to just call it "okay."
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 portableparty (1185) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - APR 16, 2012
12 oz. bottle from Miamilice. Pours hazy amber orange with a soapy white head that dissipates to a wispy film and shows signs of lacing. Aroma is sweet malty and syrup like scents. Taste is somewhat vegetable and metallic with a sweet malty faintly bitter finish. Palate is slick and chalky with a dry finish.

Pours a clear honey/amber with a medium white head. Aroma of hay...wheres the hops? Flavor has hay, mild toasty caramel, a touch of bitterness, and a faint metallic note. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is bitter, dry hay.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 curly (2352) - Seattle (Newcastle), Washington, USA - JUL 7, 2011
Opened with a loud bang but no gush thankfully. Bottled in Feb 10, so a year and a half old. Pours gold with a lot of suspended sediment. Aroma of grain, fruit. Taste is sweet, some herb and pepper, a lot better than expected, very mild and smooth.

Smells a little sweet. Darker yellow haze. Bubbly head. Strong sizzly first taste. Yess-sir, this is way over 6%. Slight burn down the throat. Interesting fermented friut or something background. Bitter alky blast. Finish is quite long and strong. Not excited.

Its what was expected. Aroma was thin and weak. Slightly grainy with a thin light malt backbone. Pour was a nice enough light gold with plenty of rising bubbles and a one finger white head. Taste was very thin. Light grainy malt is all I got from the flavor with that typical lager phenol after taste. Medium carbonation. Blah
