Pours a light golden color. Has a medium sized white foamy head. Smells of spice and malts. Has a very malty taste. Has a little hop in the finish. Not too bad.

12oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow color with a large billowing white head. Lightl floral, citrus aroma. A bit tart and crisp in flavor, somewhat citrusy, with some floral hops coming through as well. There is also a decent malt flavor hanging around, and a nice hop bitterness in the aftertaste.

I have NEVER encountered a beer such as this one. This beer bursts out of the bottle - it volcanoes. It does not matter if it is chilled or warm. When opened, it EXPLODES. If you are unaware of this, you will be showered. If you know this, then you know that most of the bottle will be wasted in foam depriving you of what you paid for. Atwater’s other brews share this tendency but not to the extent of the pilsener. This was a six bottle experience in diferent 12 packs. When you read other reviews and they mention "over carbonation," they are apparently being kind.

A beer of the month club selection. A rather dry and crisp example. Serving: Bottle

I usually think the appearance rating is silly but this looks like an uninviting, brown, dirty (there is gunk at the bottom) bud lite. Beer is very bitter. The gunk makes me think that the bottle was corked which makes no sense. I don’t think it is yeast. Anywho you might love this, if you are weird.

Growler of Ur-Pils from Bierkraft. Golden with slight haze and nice puffy white head and lace. Crackery aroma with hint of hops. Crackery honey sweetness with medium assertive earthy hop lingering finish. Seems to be missing the grassiness I expect from good pilsner. Anyhow, not bad, nice soft texture.

Aroma shows earthy mustiness, a hint of grassiness. Body is dry with a light earthy tone ending in an ample bitterness of continental hops. Pours a light golden with a nice rocky head, replete with a handfull of sticky lacing. Only flaw is that is a bit overcarbonated. Nice crisp finish.
