Tap at Barcade. Slightly hazy, pale golden pour with a tight creamy white head. The nose is quite clean with some crackery malt character. Fairly clean and fresh with a nice herbal hop character. Lightly floral with a touch of zestiness. It’s actually a pretty nice pilsner.

Pours a transparent pale golden with a large foamy white head. Aroma of pale malt and some fresh Saaz hops. Body starts with some mild sweetness and hoppy bitterness for balance before a slightly estery, drier finish. A decent pils.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Rastacouere (5900) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 9, 2010
Cloudy golden liquid topped by a gigantic white mountainous foam that follows a gusher. A gushing pilsner? That’s a feature even Breughel has not accomplished yet. Anyways... without the borderline ridiculous overcarbonation that follows in mouth, it could have been pretty solid as the noble hops bring forward nice herbal undertones and the gentle maltiness is clean, crackery and relatively dry. Its dryness is intertwined with mineral, sandy suggestions. Even upfront, the gazyness affects the taste negatively, limiting the other component’s deployment and enhancing the thinness. I guess it could be good on tap, but the bottling seems to have quality control issues.

Soapy white head, light body. Neutral aroma Creamy, some pilsner taste finishing metallic. Compelling effort to make it creamy.

My first Atwater beer, and I am impressed. Bottle from the Beer Yard. The pour is gold with 2-finger white head and a good dose of carbonation, coupled with a ton of floaties which remain suspended in the glass. At times, the carbonation is floating up while the floaties drift down, and the entire effect is mesmerizing. At one point, I was staring at this beer like I was reading the Wall Street Journal, and mywife said "What the hell are you doing?" Perhaps the best appearance of all time due to this fabulous effect. The aroma was classic pils, with a hopcitric base, plus some honey pale malts and slight fruit (apricots). The palate was medium density, with flavors of heavy pale malty honey, plus the aforementioned apricots and hopcitrus. Well balanced, complex, and you really have to see this one to believe it!
